I've noticed like 1000x increase in subaru ads on tv lately. Does anyone think parent company toyota is now donating money to their advertising budget? After all subie did allow toyota to build their camry at their plant in indiana
Just a thought! :)
when will we see an awd corolla using a boxer engine? ROAR!

Sweet, now if only they had this advertising budget 15 years ago for the Subaru SVX. It may still have been in production today.

wow a new corolla hatchback, if the echo hatch looked like that, it'll be better
but damn 20,000pounds...thats almost 40k cdn for a corolla..
it looks much better than a civic hatch for sure IMO, and only 250 made in UK
i hope either 5th gear or top gear reviews this corolla year end/next year

That hatch looks pretty sharp. Let's see the AWD one!
I think my buddies' dad used to own a 4WD Corolla wagon here in Canada.

The lowest I'm going to go is a corolla coupe. I don't really want to explain why I'm driving a corolla sedan :D

I know, eh? 40k....yeah, I wouldn't get one for 40k. I could get an RX-8 for that price.

I thought GM was part owner of Subaru, not Toyota??

GM sold their stake in Subaru and Toyota bought in.
In fact, Subaru is probably going to start making up to 100,000 Corolla's a year for Toyota (hmm, will people care where their car is made).

I read that Camry's will now be made in Subaru's Indianapolis plant
I definitely can't wait for a Subaru Hybrid car that uses Toyota Technology
Or maybe a revamped AWD Celica =p

i think you mean the MR2 uses the corolla engine, it's always been that way, corolla had the engine first
only one that wasn't a corolla engine was the SW20

how much would that engine cost if you were to import it?
I'd wouldn't mind buying a 1986 toyota corolla from japan..

thats not the MR2 engine..
the MR2/ celica engine one is called Toyota CALDINA GT4 usint the 3sgte engine.
the corolla shown in the link is using the same engine found in a corolla/ Matrix xrs and celica GTS 2zzge + boost
the Mr2 (spyder ) is the 1zzge engine.

That 20000 pounds probably includes VAT, like most prices in Britain. I watch Top Gear all the time and some of the prices they list for cars also sold here are outragous! A Murano is 30,000 GBP and a Legacy Outback is 28,000 GBP.

No no, a family sedan is the Camry because of the split rear seats and the massive trunk. Sports sedan is the Legacy.
