Or maybe someone has purchased and can give me an idea on what the best deal they got.

It seems these things are selling w/o much effort on the dealer's part here in Calgary. While at the dealership, I think they sold 3 while we were there..and 2 at the car show. Lots of people also looking at these cars too.

The MSRP is 42,980, approx 1600 in Freight & PDI, but they're offering $1500 off (as a car show special), $699 for 4 way protection (paint, undercoating/noise reduction, leather/upholstery protection) which will be reapplied every 2 years free of charge for I think the life of the vehicle, and $699 for the 3M clear protective film on the mirrors, front/lower bumper, and first 1/3 of the hood, lifetime warranty.

so they are offering 1500-699-699=102 off MSRP if u buy their scam

the 4 way protection is a scam, it's not worth anything. negotiate the price first and those things are freebies u get them to add in in to seal the deal.

but are you looking at the IS250 AWD and 325xi too? in a comparo those two easily beat the aged G35. but of course you may need the bigger size of the G

Yes, the IS250 we felt was underpowered, the IS350 was nice, but no AWD, since this is the wife's car, I would feel somewhat more comfortable her having the AWD considering she's never owned or driven a RWD.

Also space was tighter in the BMW 3 series and the IS350, we opted for the G due to that 'little' bit of more space.

I realize that the 4 way protection could be somewhat a scam..but in a market such as Calgary with so much of the population seemingly having high amounts of disposable income...I'm just wondering how 'desparate' the dealers are to deal..it seems like BMW's, Infiniti's, Mercedes, Lexus' are flooding the streets out here, maybe we notice it more due to the fact we're fairly new here. The local market must have some affect on the final price, even with cars.
