Nothing major, just curious.
I have the XFI soundcard but usb headphones, while I was reinstalling etc I noticed sound with no card installed and the onboard disabled...
so where is that coming from, and how would I know if I am getting use out of this sexy new card?
Second: My ram shows up as DDR400 on boot up, says its ddr500 on package
that odd?
stock 3d marks seem fine, now to overclock if I can find some timings for this ram kit
03 = 33026
05 = 16.351
06 = 8800

now the new headhphones are not working......
can I use this card with usb headphones, or do I need to have inputs into the sound card (makes sense)?
thx

if it says DDR500 you have to set the FSB to 250mhz manually. it wont default to it. DDR500 means its rated to DDR500 but your computer still wants DDR400, so if its autoset, its autoset to DDR400.
if it is DDR500, then the stock timings will really be the best to take it to 250, anything more and you may end up loosing the timings so much the overclocks arent worth it.

unless im mistaken, the normal fsb?
example stock = 200 x 13 = 2.6?
If I change that to 250, wouldnt boot ;)
Currently I am running my pc
12 x 240 @ 2.88

stock timings (what the spd tab says) and it wont run at 250mhz? try to lower your multipliwer and raise the FSB. if it runs at 240mhz 1:1 and you are fine with that, thats cool too.

Oh in the Dram frequency set? set it to 250 1/01?
thx

Drop your multiplier to 11, use ram timing 1:1 (200) and make sure the FSB(at 1:1 with the RAM) can go to 250 (11X250). Also verify the timings are the same as on the sticker/documentation for the RAM and that your DDR voltage is also as the sticker states. Depending on the manufacturer/ model of the RAM, some like more volts (over 2.8), while most are happy between 2.6-2.8V. Most 2GB kits run best at about 2.7-2.8.
Some more details about Proc/MB/RAM might help too, as many of us have been through a number of different setups/combinations already.

Cpu throttling disabled
Fsb 240
LDT 3.0X
Cpu FSB 12X
pci freq 100
cpu vid start up 1.525
hit 2.88 on air stable. Ram is stock timings - not sure what to set with this mushkin xp4000.
If I go higher on the FSB: it hard locks in benchmarks. If I make the voltage 1.55 pc wont go to windows.
I have not altered ANY other settings, so If I should be, plz let me know
Also, memory says ddr400 when I boot up. Package says ddr500?!
setup is:
DFI Lanparty UT NF4 Expert
AMD Athlon 64 FX-60 @ 2.88
Mushkin XP4000 2GB
2 x 7800GTX 512 in SLI
Creative XFI
Raptor X
Pioneer 109
Seasonic 600w
Coolmaster stacker 830 with 2 120mm fans
thx

sounds fine. 2.88 is just as good as my opteron. your LDT is too low though, should be 4x with those FSB speeds. (should be around 1000, so 240x3= too low)
that voltage is high though, i think most chips can hit your speeds with 1.45v or less.

Your USB headphones has its own audio decoder. If you use them, you're not using your sound card.
