Chinese Buffet @ this location...

just looked at the Ming Pao (one Chinese newspaper) yesterday, on the entire front page, an ad was found of Grand Opening of a buffet place called Super Buffet... I looked and found out it's on 1221 Markham Road... huh? again?? it brought back my memory... now, can you name the name of buffet place had opened at this location? When was it? had u visited? how's food?

starting this...

80s? - Chi-Chi
90s - Mr. Wong Buffet (for about 10 yrs. I think since it was there when I came to Toronto) - ate there 1-2 every month - food was not bad in mid-90s but never went back again a couple years before it closed down
2002/3 - Oriental Feast Chinese & Japanese Buffet
2005? - Oriental Cuisine
2006 - Super Buffet

Mr. Wong buffet servered buffet for the longest time @ the said location... was good...

Mr. Wong's was good - ayce raw oysters all the time it existed, then came bbq'd fresh clams when Tappanyaki section opened. Then there was the cold crawfish in shell.

In winter, they started the ayce hotpot & for $2 more, you can include regular buffet.

I dont think I would go to Super Buffet again unless they renovate it big time.. Was kinda to dirty for me and looks like everything was so compact.

The window panes still have the stencilled/etched ChiChi's on them, through all these changes of ownership over the years.

Super Buffet just opened last Fall, and it's been completely renovated from previous Oriental Buffet/Feast. All their china now have their name on it.

I cannot see how good Super Buffet will be. considering the level of buffet here in toronto, your not going to be getting something much different than places like Mandarin.....unless of course u go downtown to some nice hotel :)

same here..Oriental buffet or whatever it was called before wasn't that good and unless someone says this beats Buffet City @ Steeles and Woodbine then I will go. My uncle was skeptical telling me why am I listening to you guys when I told him *Food Businesses is all about word of mouth* which is how reputation grows.
