Looking for Paradigm speakers (either Monitors/Studios) that I might be able to get shipped into Northern B.C.
Maybe an alternative speaker set of the same quality would be nice too. I figure if I'm already at that level, I might as well go for a trusted, well reviewed brand.
Thanks in advance.

Have you tried Audio Video Unlimited http://www.avu.ca/.

I have Paradigm speakers all around. I bought all my speakers from there. Although the person I used to deal with no longer works for them anymore. I haven't talked to him in a while but he may know someone within the company who can get you a deal. I can try to get ahold of him and get you a contact.

Whereabouts are you in Northern BC if I may ask? I might know someone who knows someone in Prince Rupert.

I think Paradigm speakers are great value and a great product! I've had my monitor 3s for almost 25 years!

You might try this site, http://www.canuckaudiomart.com there are some Paradigms for sale there.

Also consider the Energy Connoisseur 3 Speakers..similarly priced, audioshop has had them advertised for ~$350 recently which is a very good deal.

In Northern BC, J and A Stereo in Prince George sells Paradigm speakers. I am pretty sure that Sight and Sound stores throughout Northern BC like Terrace sell Paradigm products.

I believe that City Furniture in Prince George sells Energy speakers. East Wind Emporium in Prince Rupert should still carry Energy too.

Thanks everyone.
I am contracted in Terrace, but am from the lower mainland. Will be up here for another 1-2 years. I went to Sight and Sound and was priced out a system for $2229.96
(1pr) Monitor 7 - $799
(1pr) Mini Monitors - $449
(1) CC-370 - $399
(1) PC-1200 - $749

Are prices similar throughout B.C.? Plus I'll have to worry about shippin' all these speakers back to Vancouver in a year or two.

I'll check the online sites, and maybe call Prince Rupert this weekend. If anyone knows about this package and what price I should pay, please share.
Thanks again, in advance.

If you can get anywhere between 30-40% off retail, your doing pretty good. Try to get it around that area as shipping will be pricey. If East Wind in Prince Rupert sells Paradigm, I'm sure they can give you a decent price for them if its the original owners. I haven't been up there in years. I lived there for a 18 years and knew the owners but I can't remember their names.

I'll pm you a contact for someone from the Audio Video store in Abbotsford.

Dang. They're claiming that I'm getting an excellent Deal at 7.5% off retail. I guess I'll have to do more research and more searching. Thanks for the heads up!!!

30-40% off MSRP is very good to excellent IMO. 25% is more reasonable. Anything less than 15% isn't worth considering. Personally, in the late 90's, I had received around 25-30% off for a demo pair of Studio/60 V.1 from J&A Stereo from Prince George. Already had a pair of Studio/20 from Sight and Sound in Prince Rupert....around 25% off I think. For the matching centre, CC-450, I cannot remember where I got it (either J&A or Sight and Sound).

Paradigm doesn't allow mail or online orders on their products. How about a 6.5 hour road trip to Prince George? :D Anyways, it's worth getting some prices from J&A Stereo via telephone. Sight and Sound may be willing to match J&A.

IMO, I would suggest that you probably drop the Paradigm powered sub for the time being. Any thoughts about getting Mini Monitors x 4 plus the matching centre? I much prefer the Paradigm Reference lineup over the Monitor series. Studio/20 x 4 and a matching centre would be awesome.

I guess I knew the right person to get the deals then. You gotta remember the markup on speakers are crazy high.
I'm old school with 9se, adp350, cc350, and ps1000. They still perform pretty good for their age.

No_bodyknows get in touch with the person from your private message that I sent you, it may be worth a roadtrip to drive down to pick some speakers up.

If you're looking for an alternative Canadian-made speaker brand, try Axiom. I listened to Paradigm and Axiom directly a few years ago when I was building my home system, and I preferred the sound of the Axioms for what I listen to. That being said, if you have listened to the Paradigms and love them, they make an excellent choice also.

Can't think of a dealer that would sell them, or anywhere I could go in Terrace to test these speakers out. Thanks tho

hey no problem. Just stay away from Monster speaker cable or any monster product, they are seriously overpriced overhyped stuff. Your paying about 90% for the name. Speaker cable you should be able to knock about 40-50% off the list price on those. I buy my speaker cable for about $0.50 (can't remember the exact amount) a foot for 12 guage.
