Any style, where are the best places to look? I don't even know where to start looking! This is for a large 17" notebook.

17" requires investment and something special. since it's larger & delicate at the same time, i suggest purchasing a backpack to distribute the weight evenly on your back. i sell laptop bags but a backpack is the best solution.

PM me your budget and i can forward you to sites that specialize in large widescreen laptop backpacks.

If you want a good quality laptop bag/backpack...check out Crumpler bags here: http://www.crumpler.ca/cartIndex.php?catId=5 There are pics on the site and if you want to buy them at a store, you can purchase them at a Toronto store called Carbon Computing..it's on queen street west, near pape area - you can google it easily.

Yes it's expensive, especially the backpacks, but I love mine - the Sheep Scarer - which fits 12" notebooks. I know it'll last me a lifetime because it's durable, the quality of the bag's material is excellent, and not to mention it's waterproof.

It's crazy to pay that much for a bag, I know, but I paid almost 1 grand for my laptop so I might as well protect it AND prevent theft since this backpack does not scream "laptop bag". Perfect for going to school ;)

if u can wait... wait! Check futureshop/bestbuy flyers every week until a good deal comes up. A few months ago i bought a bag from best buy that was $30 (maybe more) off + it came with free $40 headphones.

My recent price comparison exercise (was looking for 1 myself) tells me that Best Buy and Future Shop are way overpriced when compared to Tiger Direct.

Always buy quality items & from companies with good reputations. I like Heys because they're Canadian and also all the top stores carry their luggage. My backpad is ergo designed and straps are better than crumplers. if i had more money i'd buy Oakleys. You can't expect top quality for $50, MEC sell cheapos but also TopLine quality stuff so take a look.

I bought my Heys on RFD and can give you that guy's number.

Did you get the Heys Epac? They have an Epaq 17 which I like, but didn't have a price on the website. They sell them at the bay or zellers and couldn't find a price online either.

I'll second (third?) the Crumplers -- they're beautiful and WAY worth their money. Go for it, you won't regret it! Computer System Centre at College & Spadina carries them, as well as Vistek on QSE just past Parliament.

I have a Samsonite bag that also accomodates a small printer and it served me well over the years. The bag is still in good condition after many trips and being on many job sites.

As it is with many things, you can get a Volkswagen or you can get a Rolls Royce.

Or you can just wrap up the PC in some towels and use a Loblaws plastic bag :cheesygri

I absolutely hate geeks.com for customer service (or lack of) and really expensive shipping (if i didn't have that depot).

IAC... if you just wanna carry it around, and ur sure you are not going to bash into any walls or what not. Go get the DYNEX bag from FS for 15-17's. I'm warning you it has literally NO protection. But it's cost is like $7-8. You can't go wrong if you know someone.

I have a Tom Bihn laptop sleeve and courier-style bag. The laptop sleeve secures inside the bag. Really nice!!! checkout tombihn.com. You can also look at my review on epinions.com. Just search on tom bihn.

The Gap also has a nice courier-style laptop bag.

Mountain Equipment Coop also has laptop bags. They have courier-style and backpack.

Timbuk2 is another laptop bag manufacturer.

All of the above make good quality bags.

I just ordered a bag last week. They ship to Canada (shipping is free if your purchase is over US$35) and they tell you exactly how much your bag will cost in Cdn$ before you place your purchase.
