I've gone the salt and grounded black pepper route for my top sirloin steak (barbecued to medium), but I'm wondering if anyone has anything more adventurous for me to try out.

It'd be interesting to try something other than black pepper and salt, though it does taste amazing.

I quite **** ginger marinades
eg http://barbeque.allrecipes.com/az/GsFlnkStkMrind.asp

just remeber not to poke holes in the steak. That just lets the steaks juices run out :(

You've got it pretty much right. Salt and pepper with a bit of montreal steak spice is the greatest.

sea salt, fresh ground black peppers, garlic, olive oil

let it marinade for a day before you cook it

All you need is a nice black angus porterhouse steak seasoned with Barberian's steak spice and a bbq. Heaven.

crushed garlic/sea salt/cracked pepper/crushed jalapeno on a striploin (not sirloin) steak. Rub it in before you cook, no need to marinate overnight.

I second this thought, sometimes simple is best!

kiko's teriyaki soya sauce.

marinate for 1 hr with black pepper, and some dried garlic

no extra sauce, flavouring required for serving....the soya marinate will have enough flavour

Ask a butcher, they'll tell you that you can do alot better than a striploin.
Buy a Rib eye.

The marbling adds lots of flavour, don't forget to cut the eye out after griilling (the eye is a chunk of fat in the center of the steak)

I sprinkle a little Clubhouse pepper medley spice mix on

Or, in a ziplock bag, pour about 1 cup of scotch or rye, with the pepper medley and put steaks in this mixture for 30 mins in fridge.

delicious.

as others said .. keep it simple .. montreal steak spice, bit of soy sauce, bit of wine or sherry

but you might wanna move up from the sirloin

Yep , sirloin is over rated.

A better cut of meat won't require as much marinade.
