Corded optical mouse on sale for $24.99 with no MIR's.
Hot price though not as hot when it was like $6 when PM'd with Stooples (150%) about a year ago. God I miss those days. Stooples should bring that back like a week long sale idea or something.

warm price i'd say.

like u said OP, cheaper back in the days of 150% PM :)

btw, looks like only FS carries them now (online at least)... BB/stooples don't have'em anymore.

not trying to promote stooples, but for those that want a cheaper, cordless mouse, stooples has the MX700 for $20: http://www.staples.ca/ENG/Catalog/cat_sku.asp?CatIds=&webid=496700&affixedcode=WW

Like MX700, MX510 is discontinue model as well, that is why FS and BB are clear them out. Very nice mouse with a good price.

Extremely nice mouse...even at that price. Only complaint I would have is that your mouse buttons can get really dirty...

i agree. the surfaces of these mice gets dirty and u end up rubbing the top over and over in order to get rid of the "dirt" that's stuck. Mine recently died on me as the right click button failed to respond sensitively after 8 months. good thing is that Logitech replaced it with the MX518. made my PM at $15 w/ tax included all worthwhile. :)

Very nice mouse, used it for about a year before I switched over to the MX5000 mouse/keyboard.

I really like this mouse. I picked it up at FS last time it was this price. Wow, what a difference over my 3button MouseMan. I really like the thumb buttons, especially. I do find the ones on top a little awkward though, especially the one forward of the scroll wheel.

Went to FS today looking for the MX510, but found a open box MX700 instead.

The open box was listed at $42 w/ a wireless kb, but the kb was missing, so FS bumped it down to 20$. Then I told them it was 20$ at staples, and the manager bumped it down to 14$. The FS manager looked pretty pissed. lol

Thanks OP and MJM.

Does FS still carry them in blue?

Any just about the dirt issue, my bro has the M518 with the same problem, he just takes some sanitizer gel on a qtip and scrubs it like that, he says it works for him.

havent's seen the blue version for a long time.

when FS/BB/stooples started clearing them out, i've only seen the red versions.

would this mouse be noticeably better than an MX310?

I bought 10 of these mice when FS f**ked up their pricing at 9.99 last year ... went as soon as they opened and took all their stock haha

I doubt you'll feel any noticeable difference in terms of responsiveness. But I do find the 510 more comfortable (e.g., bigger area for the thumb) than the 310. ;)

I have the similar MX500 and totally love it. I did have to open it up to remove the weight inside. It was too heavy with it. I couldn't believe the Logitech logo wasn't lit up so I had to mod the mouse to have that. PM me if you want instructions on how to do it.

Nah it only seems heavy when you first start using it. I got my MX500 about a year ago and I too thought it was a dead weight in my hands. I considered removing the weight but didn't want to void the warranty on a brand new mouse. After using it for a few months, I've either gotten used to the weight or my wrist has gotten considerably stronger, because now it feels like a regular mouse and every other mouse I hold feels like paper weight.

PS. Could you PM me the modding instructions for the glowing logo? thanks

It's not laser, it's optical. :)

You mean it's not laser, it's LED. They're both optical...

I though Logitech discontinued it. I have a red one, only used for a couple of times.

If anyone interested, PM me with your offer. I am in the GTA area.

I love this mouse. I own both the mx500 and mx510. I use them interchangeably since I use one for my PC and the other for my ibook. I don't see a problem with the weight or the lightness of these mice respectively. I can never use another mouse after using both these mice...it's Logitech forever for me! And it's gotta be similar to this design...fits nicely in my hand :)

Last Sunday I went to FS to get the 510, but I saw the G5 was asking for $50. I stood there for like 10 minutes debating which one I should get, and finally picked up the G5.

The G5 is exceptional, but I prefer the suface texture of the 510 more. I like the smooth surface of the 510 over the the rough surface on the G5.

Btw, the laser in the G5 is not visible.

The surface is like the MX500's. It feels pretty rough and sandpaper-like at first, but after a few weeks of rubbing it actually becomes nice and smooth. I've had my MX500 for a year now and all of that rough surface is eggshell smooth. The problem with the MX510 surface is that it gets slippery if your fingers are sweating from gaming.

Blue one has been discontinued and sold out. The last time it was on sale, most stores only had 2-5 left at each location @$29.99.
