I have a 94 Integra RS with what i believe is a B18b engine. Is there much of a difference between 94-97 Integras and 98-02 Integras because if I want to do an engine swap B18C Type R engine, a lot of the site that sells that says it is for 98-02 Integras. So far the only difference i can see between the 2 groups is that the front bumper is different and that 94-97 has OBD1 and 98-02 has OBD2. is a swap possible or is the best i can get is a B18c GSR?

You will need a obd 1 to 2 conversion harness.

better check out hassport 's web site.
or

www.torontocivics.com

they ll help you out.

look into turboing your b18b instead of the swap, more HP for the same $ as a b18c

I will add a turbo charger later on simply because i drove a friend's WRX turbocharged and love the feeling and sound of it.

However one of the main reason i'm looking into a swap, even though it still is practically perfect condition now, now engine has over 231 000 kms.

Just looking into my options and estimating how much i need to start saving each paycheck if i want all that by the time it reached 300 000 km ( I drive on average about 25 000 - 30 000 kms per year).

Don't go ITR swap then turbo. Reason being an ITR is already high comp which won't allow you to boost as much as a regular b18. I would rather stick with the B18b and boost...then grab a ITR tranny for the wheelspin.

And yes, an OBD conversion harness is required if you wish to swap over to an ITR. Figure out how much your willing to spend...IMO turboing is the best HP/$...however if you can't pay to do it right, go with a swap.

like he said if you wanna do turbo don't get a B18C5 ... I wouldn't even suggest getting a B18C1 and doing Turbo!.... If you really wanted to do turbo I suggest you build it on the B18B motor. If you really wanted to get an ITR motor I suggest you get one that's imported from Japan that's a pre 98 spec one then you can use your OBD1 harness otherwise you'll have to modify the harness for OBD2 and run across many more potential problems.

A friend of mine is selling an EK9 /w Type R Motor already in it... taht thing is already very fast as he's done alot of work to the motor... PM me if you interested I think he's asking about $13K

Since this is Redflag, and going with the Cheapest way..

Sell your Teg. and buy something thats already modded.
Although you ll never know what your getting..

PS Do not buy an Ebay turbo kit. Garbage.

Also, you should be on a Honda forum asking these ?'s
ie honda tech.
search toronto civics ' classifieds for used turbo stuff.
