View Full Version : Why are paintball guns banned from BST?

I'm curious as to why paintball guns aren't allowed to be sold in the BST. They are readily available in stores in every city in this country and they are available to anyone who wants to buy them.
My little 14 year old brother went and bought himself a paintball gun from Excess Cargo a few weeks back. If he can buy one from a store, surely RFD can allow them.

Think it might be related to the bannination of the sale of pellet guns in Canada awhile back..

He shouldn't have been allowed to buy it unless an adult was with him

RFD doesn't allow a lot of things.. that's the way it is when we live under the red flag Dictatorship.

A while back we decided to ban the sale of airsoft and other pellet guns for the following reason:
Due to safety issues and possibility of sale to minors we've decided to ban the sale of "airsoft" and other pellet guns in the BST. If you notice someone selling such items, please use the Report-a-Post feature.

can I still sell paintballs, co2 cannisters, and other related equipment?

well i think stuff like these should be placed on a separated section, and users can only enter that section agreeing that he/she is 18 and is responsible for whatever happens
clearly paintball isn't real firearms, neither is airsoft for those who plays it

I remember a while back some kids shot a little kid in the eye with a bb gun. I support the ban of selling ANY weapon on RFD.

It can kill someone by hurling a monitor to his head. Should it be banned too?

ridiculous analogy...monitors aren't meant for hurling/firing like paintball guns are

well paintball isnt meant to be killing people either, its meant to be played with facemask and other protections, same goes with airsoft

I fully understand the point of banning pellet guns, but I see no reason to ban paintball guns.
It is a growing sport/hobby that is enjoyed by a lot of people. You can't ban everything that is dangerous, that's just rediculous. If you want to protect fellow RFD'ers, ban cars from being sold, they are by far more dangerous than all the paintball guns on earth combined.

Yeah how can RFD be sure a terrorist isn't going to buy a car in the BST forum and use it for terroristic purposes.

I understand why RFD doesn't support selling of these items on their forums, if little billy bought one on here and shot johnny in the face by accident...the authorities would go to the source of the purchase. However on the other hand, I personally would not sell my Pball gun to anybody that I felt wasn't mature enough to handle one. I will let CT and walmart sell to those clowns.
I had tried to sell on BF forums my gun and got the same response I just gave, it's a little silly but those are the rules.

Well if little billy comes to me trying to buy my chainsaw.. I don't know if I could resist his mind control and may be forced to sell it to a minor. >:(

Should everything be allowed that won't kill you?
PAint ball guns aren't going to kill anyone. However if not used properly can cause serious injury. If you took a shot near the eye without a mask it could do serious eye damage.
There's good reason why most paint ball arena's will kick you out on sight if they see you lift your mask while playing.

I can't tell if you are being an ass or not, either way I really don't care. I just wanted to get my post count higher.
