hmm, by "car cd player" are you referring to a deck/headunit? I don't know of one that has support for USB connections, but I do know that most of the decks nowadays support mp3 files saved on CDs. What I do for my setup is I usually put a list of mp3's on a CD-RW, and then play it in the car deck until I get bored of it, and then change the mp3's on the RW and bring it to the car again. I also ran an auxiliary input cable from the deck so I can plug it straight into a normal mp3 player or my notebook and play files from there if I'm too lazy to write a new CD.
You can check out the available decks that suits you at different manufacturer websites such as Pioneer, Panasonic, etc. or even FS or BB to get an idea of what they have....but just a note, their prices are super overpriced, so you may be able to find a better deal elsewhere.
If you're insistent on using a USB flash drive or something like that, I think there are some FM transmitters out there that can do this, but I think you will be losing sound quality this way...

Yea I was refering to the head unit. I've seen some models with a USB input and I fount it interesting.
e.g. http://store.teptronics.com/plcdusb78mp3.html
It seems popular in the UK. The advantage is that you can plug-in your mp3 player directly or you can use USB stick (which is quicker than burning CD-RW)
A unit with a simple line-in could also do the job.
