Hey were currently giving away a copy of Fight Night Round 3 for the 360 in the contest. One of the members here posted it. The response has been great and we will be giving it away on Sunday. My question is we are going to be doing a IPod Nano for a Buck Raffel.
Can I post that here, or where should I post it? Were going to run the promotion for two weeks. Were going to use the funds raised to give away a PSP for a free, and to buy prizes for our next Halo 2 tournament. I just don't want to get banned for posting something i shouldn't and I read the rules but can't seem to find anything on the subject. Help if you can.
Thanks

Sounds like a scam. People all send you $1 and then you disappear.

I told you what I'm going to do with the money and after all I'm giving away a copy of Fight Night Round 3 for Free in the contest section. I don't even know the guy that posted it. I just saw the post from my stat counter and decided that I would join and ask some questions about how this would be received.
I figure that if we do different things for a buck and then every other promotion could be a free give away we could work our way up to something really big like laptops or even cars eventually. I know it's a little far fetched but I'm sure that we could at least give away a few PSP's and Xbox 360's.
Think what you want, but I wouldn't have asked the question if my intentions were not honest.

I'm sorry you all are so jaded to think that everyone on the net is trying to scam you. I understand why but there's not alot I can do about how people feel about the idea. Like I said I wanted to know what people though about the idea also. If you have any suggestions for a giveaway that will get lots of traffic and have little to no investment let me know.
I run a small video game tounament company and I'm just wanting hit to my website and exposure. I don't have the deep pockets to just give away tons of product. So if I can find a createive way to give really cool stuff away over the net then it benefits me becasue of the exposure and it benefits you because you get something for free.
Oh well think what you want I know where my intentions are,and I'm sure it's pointless to reply to this but I just had to say something.

Regardless, I think raffles are illegal in most places unless it is for a registered charity (and even for that you need a correct license)

I just joined this board that's why only have 5 post.
Asked if this was something people were interested in?
Told the reasons I though it was a good idea.
Scammer I don't think so. I did happen to look at my states attornet general website. I live in St. Louis MO BTW and found that in my state that a raffel would in fact be illegal to conduct since we are a for profit business so it's now a mute point.
I can provide the link if anyone wants to see it for themselves. So like I said if anyone has any actual good ideas about a promotion that I could run that would get major attention let me know.
Constructive stuff please.

in order to have a raffel dont you have to have some type of licence? Not sure but i consider that a form of gambling which i thought was illegal for private citizens to do /shrug
