Why do FS and BB only carry 3 sound cards?

I checked both and they carry only

Creative Soundblaster Audigy 2 value
Dynex 5.1 Channel
Dynex 7.1 Channel

What happened to the Creative X-FI cards? I thought they used to carry them???

Sound card are worthless, since most computers come with onboard sound, and anyone nerdy enough to need better sound probably isn't going to buy it from FS/BB.

Though if you do choose to buy from them, they are offering 3 choices. Take your pick.

Actually, FS has some decent deals on sound cards once in a while. ~2 years ago or so, I bought an audigy 2ZS from them at a discount and it came with splinter cell (I think) which made it a better deal than theusual computer stores... And yes, that card is way better than the ****** on-board sound from my P4P800...

How much is the Audigy 2 value?
I'm getting pissed at my Live! 5.1 clipping my audio when I have full bass on. I have to turn down the bass on my tunes, its just not the same :)

same reason why futureshop/bestbuy do not usually carry high end video cards..

the only chain i have found who carries high end stuff is compusmart.

The big oem depot stores are the way to go now. OEM, Bcom, memoryexpress, etc. The costco way of selling computer parts. i'd love to see a tigerdirect, factory direct or ncix here in edmonton...
