Does anybody else smell a cover up?

The police are making accusations it was two professional hitWOMEN from Canada.

It was just so convenient that the resort failed to register any details regarding the two hitwomen.

2 Canadians murdered in mexico at a beach resort in their hotel rooms while there for a wedding. No dispect to their victims, but when I first heard this is sounded like a good Agatha Christie novel.

"The Ianieros lived comfortably, mortgage-free with their home in Woodbridge paid for with $470,000 cash in 1991. They also owned several properties in Etobicoke and Vaughan, records show."

Sounds like a mob hit.
Nothing was taken, no signs of struggle.

Maybe they were drug kingpins or something.

Wow, I bet the killers won't ever be found if this really was a mob hit.

(according to a local) A Mexican newspaper said that nothing valuable was taken but that things were thrown around as if somebody was looking for something. The cleaning staff spilled a lot of details to the local press.

The articale also said he owned multiple properties with zero debt. :|

Also, each of the daughters recieved a house as a wedding present. This was actually going to be Lily's second wedding. (My fiancee used to work with Lily and attended her first wedding).

Why no info on the daughter?

Why does everyone say mob hit? Just because they are italian?

Their throats were cleanly slit from ear-to-ear. There was no money stolen and no sign of forced entry. Also, the people who are suspects had vacation packages which had them departing the hotel the early morning after the murders.

It's just all very suspicious.

true dat..........that is why it is even more suspicious. Someone is sending a message.

So maybe the parents were killed to send a message to someone in the family.

Well off yes, but legit? Who knows?

Who pays for a half million dollar house in 1991 with cash alone? It does raise some suspicion...

Not even a couple both making 80k a yr ( a very comfortable salary) can do that...

Yes exactly...also keep in mind that was 1991 so with inflation that would be like $600-650k today?

It also says they own several other properties, probably also paid for in cash :|

Lots of people wo werent born in this country, and believe in working hard, saving up, then buying with cash because its the best way to do it.
You imposing mungiecake spending patterns on others and it just doesnt work that way. I have known Greeks, Poish, Italian and others who saved up, bought their homes mortgage free, then bought starter homes for their kids to pass on once they got married (I actually almost married a girl like that who had a home waiting for her and one for her sister). Her father worked as a TTC mechanic....but never spent money on stuff. Save, save, save.
Not everybody lives paycheck to paycheck because they need a new cellphone very year, flashy SUV to drive around town in, IPODS, Breitling watches, TIVO, and all the other junk we get lured into wasting out money on.

What did you expect them to look like? Did you expect them to be in ninja suits or something?

The more "normal" they look the more likely they're pro's.

"Two RCMP homicide investigators have flown to Mexico as the investigation into the murders of an Ontario couple reportedly shifts to focus on four local suspects"

"police are now looking for four hotel employees who have not reported for work since the Ianieros' bodies were found."

http://www.cbc.ca/story/canada/national/2006/03/08/ianiero-mexico0060308.html

geez, are the mexican investigators that inept that they really didn't pick up on this beforehand, or are they really just that desperate to divert attention to prevent scaring off tourists.

scary, to think it's possible that I could have walked right past one or more of these suspects on my visit that resort last month....

I do agree with the comments made about security at the resort, I hardly ever saw any security guard presence.... also on the second to last day my room key stopped working without explaination

Apparently maids from the resort were actually cleaning up the entire mess before Mexican officials were called in.

The whole thing is just a be screw up..

This is a circus.

First it was a professional job.
Then it was not.

First it was 2 suspects.
Then it was 3 suspects.

First they said they were cremated one day later.
Then they flew them back to Canada to do an autopsy.

First it was 2 soccer moms from Thunder Bay.
Then it was a serial killer in Mexico.

I was watching the latest incarnation of that cool forensic's cop show that's so hot on tv.

CSI: Mexico. It went sort of like this:

"Eet was the gringos. Badges? We don't need no steenkin' badges. Now clean this feelthy mess up. The next bus full of tourista's weel be here any meenut."

It was all over in less than five minutes. Not quite as gripping or satisfying as the other versions of the show.
