Having made my first foray into the e-bay world (and subsequently getting a great deal on a purchase), I've been disheartened by the delays and irritation caused by paypal registration. Is there any alternative to paypal or do I keep sending money orders/cheques for every purchase?

I have been hearing reports of G-Buy and E-bay itself discourages sending money via WEstern Union and the like.

With Bidpay (Western Union) gone, I don't think there is a good alternative yet. There are other pay services like Stormpay, Hyperwallet and the such but unfortunately not a lot of sellers use or support them.

:( Yeah for my purchase, the buyer wanted either a money order or paypal, so I had to mail a MO to him (I think its like $5 for a MO)

You don't have a credit card?

Having a credit card and buying via paypal is extremely convenient and easy for the buyer.

Paypal is easy to sign up for, I don't see how you are having any problems. Then again, I signed up 3 years ago, maybe they've made it harder to sign up since then. Still, signing up and getting verified wasn't hard.

Thats exactly whats happening, the CC was confirmed but they keep delaying and then cencelling the two small token amounts theyre supposed to send to my bank account for verification. PITA.
