Hi, I'll be in Whitehorse, Yukon at the end of March for work. I am going on business and don't get the opportunity to fly this far north very often and think that it would be a good opportunity to take some vacation in Whitehorse or to Alaska.

Does anyone know any good things to do up here such as tours, cruises, flightseeing, etc. And yes, I know ... drinking is an activity, but I want to get an idea of what there is to do besides that!

Thanks :cheesygri

Make sure you have a pile of cash it is not cheap from eating out to tours.

Definitely take a flight tour of the area, it's absolutely beautiful country.

I don't get what you mean by it being expensive to eat? That's not something I've heard from people going there.

Things such as eggs etc are double the price. Here a dozen of eggs on the avg is $4.50 there the avg is $8.00.

Eggs here are like $2.39/dozen.

But yes, generally food is more expensive up there, a few commodities in the south are simply more because of transportation costs to the north. Though I never heard that meals were outrageous high.

I actually find eating out in Halifax at "touristy" places extremely expensive, even though that dozen of eggs is only $2.39.
