Was planning to go to Cancun, but the hurricane seems to have done too much damage, and having 2nd thoughts. I am going with my gf, budget is $2000-$2500 for 2 of us. Wanna go somewhere with nice beaches and nightlife.

If it doesn't have to be exotic, Florida is pretty nice this time of the year. Miami or Fort Lauderdale has great beaches and is well-known for their clubs. Plane tickets to Florida is cheap, so you should be able to have a pretty comfortable trip with that budget.

i agree. if u live the GTA, drive there as it' s only a 20 hour trip. if u wanna stay in the orlando area use www.discounthotels.cc. otherwise use hotwire/priceline.

^^ yeah what dude said, the Mayan Riviera didn't get nearly as much damage as Cancun did. We were in PDC last month as part of a cruise and had a ball both time we've been to PDC... Last yr stayed at the Iberostar Paraiso Del Mar and would go back in an instant!

Tulum, Xel-Ha, Akumal, shopping and barhopping in PDC, lots of good things to do. Riveira Maya>>>D.R., Cuba, Jamaica, T&C....

side-thought: how come noone goes to jamaica anymore, that was THE place 15yrs ago it seemed, are they not keeping up???

Could also do a cruise out of Miami...

Good to hear that PDC is a good spot. We are headed there next month for a week (attending a wedding), and have been looking for feedback on the place.

As for exotic getaways, Dominican Republic always seems to come up as a cheap and relatively nice destination.
