Just wondering if your is as noisy as mine?
The thing sounds like a jet plane about to take off. Can even hear it through the floor! Hard to tell if its because of the PSU, or HD's or CPU/vid card fans I'm running, but I planned to use it as a HTPC, but its way too noisy.
Any advice?

Yeah mine was loud in stock config before I worked on it, but that's just the nature of a mainly aluminum case with no dampening.... stuff resonates.

Standard noise reduction principles apply here, minimize vibration transfer from components by isolating them from the actual chassis, and dampen noise by careful selection of parts, and using appropriate dampening.

I don't have any noise problems with my HTPC case. I have the LC10M (which I'm trying to sell because I want a silver one instead of black) but in any case it's pretty quiet.

Yah, i saw your ad and was wondering that. If you were closer i'd consider checking it out and selling mine to someone who actually wants to mod a perfectly good case.
What do you think makes yours quieter, does it have any sound deadening built in? Better PSU?

Cutting out the grills on the rear seemed to help the noise a bit from the rear fans. Exchanging the 80mm front fan for a 120mm helped greatly...plus the front fan only spins at about 1100RPM. I'm using an Enermax Noisetaker PSU which is unbelievably quiet. I have a 120mm nexus fan on the HSF (1000RPM) and a zalman vf-700cu on the video card...all in all I'd say it's still the two small fans in the rear that make the most noise. I can hear a faint "whir" when I'm sitting right in front of it but from where I sit on the couch (about 12' away) you'd never know it was on...even without the TV or radio or music going.
