Hi,

Is there a program that allows me to view fonts on my machine without scanning through each one in Adobe Illustrator.

Is there a free program out there??

Why not just go right to the folder that contains all the different fonts, then you can just remember the names of the ones you like, and you can even delete some if you know you'll never use them.

I could do that way but its very time consuming clicking on each and every font I have (1000+).

Im trying to design a few logos for a friend of mine and I want to find a approiate font for the logo.

AMP is a good freeware prog available from TuCows.

EDIT: what I'd like to know is which of the auto installed fonts can be removed without hurting WinXP / software. I have all these OpenType fonts I would never use cluttering up my list.

MV Boli, Marlett, Raavi for example.

In coreldraw you can type in a line of text then just use the up arrow to preview through your list of fonts to find one that is suitable. You can go through 1000+ fonts in about 10 minutes. It also comes with a font manager called bitstream which can do the same thing. There is a fully functional latest trial version at www.corel.com
