Hi,
Can I have 2 different speed of ram in the computer?
eg. 1 stick of a PC2700 333 & 1 stick of PC3200 400.
Is there anything wrong with that??
Would I be using the full potential of the rams??

The memory controller will "drop down" to match the lowest speed RAM, so it will all be used at PC2700 speeds. Personally, I don't like to do that, but if you need more RAM, it will work in a pinch.

It's fine. Since your original ram was ddr333, it's unlikely changing both sticks to ddr400 would make any difference. This is because the motherboard/fsb is limited to 333.

How do you know what his original RAM and mobo are? Damn you and your omnipotence! :)

Oh, then you actually will get slightly better performance out of just PC3200 RAM.

What about the FSB of his processor?

Processor - Intel Pentium 4 Prescott 3.0Ghz 800FSB S478 1MB Cache (I think)

Apparently, it's fine to begin with, and wouldn't matter anyway, as that board supports asynchronous operation.

For that processor, DDR400 is the way to go. I'd ditch the DDR333
