Given the problems with fakes, esp. of Sandisk memory devices, would you bother trying to buy one from BST?

Is there a clear way to tell fakes, without a computer present?

I've bought a usb key and an sd card from BST...both from known members with good heatware. No problems with either purchase.

One variable is that these flash memory devices have limited life.. you can only write to them so many times...

Why bother, they are cheap enough as it is. You may as well just buy retail.

Why not? Some peopl eare selling the actual stuff... as long as it is not from eBay.

i baught one through BST... i didnt bother to check if it was fake. I think i baught it before there were problems with fakes though (serious ones anyway)

regardless, i havnt had any problems. It was also brand new, sealed in the package... not that that gaurentees authenticity.
