I'll be in Ottawa/Gatineau for four days during March Break. It's been a very long time since I was last in Ottawa, and I'm not too familiar with the area surrounding the Four Points Sheraton Gatineau (booked by the company). Does anyone have recommendations for good places to eat that are not too far away from the hotel by foot?
A friend has recommended an aboriginal restaurant called Sweet Grass in the Byward Market, but I'm not sure how far it will be to walk there. It will likely end up being a cabbing affair.
Thanks in advance for the great tips and advice!

It depends on your budget. If the company is paying for it, there is a place across the street from the "Museum of Civilization" .. Called "Henry Burger" I believe.. Suppose to be decent... (I think it is a bit pricier though)....
I went to this place in Gatineau with work a few years back.. it was really nice.. the first time I ever had Duck Confit! But, I forget the name of the place sorry...
It was kind of in the middle of no where though.. Surrounded by trees,etc.. And the leaves were changing colour at the time.. nice spot...
BTW, I used to be able to do the walk in about 15 minutes or so from the Gatineau (the start of it) to Byward market...

unfortunately, cafe henry burger is either closed, or soon to close and booked up until the bitter end.
the Sheraton 4 Points is kind of on the edge of nowhere (although the Winterlude activities at parc Jacques Cartier are right across the street)
...your best bet IS probably to head over to the Market... the walk is not too long, so maybe walk over, then cab back.
if you wanna stay in Gatineau there are a number of nice restaurants around Laval St. (probably about the same walking distance as Ottawa), just south of the point indicated on the map (your hotel is around rue St. Etienne @ rue Laurier):

when i was working for the G. over in Gatineau, my favourite restaurant on this street is one called Pizz'a'za, but there are various others on the little stretch of Laval north of Promenade du Portage... there are also a few places such as Cafe Baci along Promenade du Portage.

Go to the search function and look under Quebec. Some of the best restaurants in the Ottawa area are in Gatineau and are virtually unknown.
