East Asia trip in May, help me plan!

Hey!

I'm flying to Taipei, Taiwan in May... right after exams. My last exam is on May 10th I believe, so anytime after that I am good to go. (earlier the better :D)

I will be staying with family so accomodations shouldn't be a problem. I would like to visit China and Hong Kong while I'm in the "area" ;). I think I'll leave Japan and Korea for another trip.

I'm planning on staying for a month, maybe a bit longer.

Any tips?
