View Full Version : stars rating mandatory for posters replying to thread?

stars ratings can be very informative. however, i find very few posters who reply to threads take the effort to give a rating. you could program it so that when members reply to a thread, a star rating must be selected, or else a reply cannot be made.

if a member makes more than one reply to a given thread, then only one rating need be entered.

That would slow down replies overall and kinda make it annoying. If the person replying is actually thoughtful enough to rate, they will rate.

Ratings are indeed very informative... just look at the rating of this thread.

For what it's worth, most people probably only rate threads in extreme cases, when they feel strongly enough to actually exert the effort of rating a thread.
