wtf?

why's FS reg. price STILL at a whoppin $220?... vs. BB's $130 reg. price?

this just proves how much BS it is when FS/BB have "sales"...

they never bother to do a price drop on their reg. prices and then a yr later, they make a sale saying its $XX after $XXX savings thinkin u actually save >50%....

don't get pulled in ppl by this BS....

anyway, good deal :cheesygri

I'm a PM newbie. So if I were to buy this at stooples at $249 tomorrow to ensrue I get one and then I could go back on the 10th with the ad and ask for PM and get the difference plus 10% back?

Its been 10 years since I've done a PM LOL.

It's absolutely normal, since they don't want people to PM. They might go as far as taking the item off their inventory listing completely for awhile. I bet it will be in stock again shortly the sales at FS ends.

There is a industry wide price adjustment in the works. Prices are plummeting.
$99-130 will be the new "regular" price. Sandisk is dropping the price of memory 30-50%.

Yes, but do it now tomorrow will be to late(staples oos), and the deal is smocking hot just look the maths:
$249,95-$99,99=$149,95x10%=$14,95
$99,99-$14,95=$85

Yes, but hope that they don't screw you over when you go in for the price match, with them saying, "NOW that we ALSO dropped our price to match their price, we can only do a 100% PM to our current price, not a 110% PM." That happened to me before, after I pre-purchased an item, back in the good ol' 150% PM days. Good luck! And - act early, man. The earlier, the better.

Let's say I buy 2 of them...

So, $85 after PM x 2 = $170

I can therefore add the $30 and $10 coupon, correct?

It would therefore come out to $130 + tax, am I right?

It all depends on the cashier. The coupon codes WILL work in store (basically they use the same POS across their whole corporation) but some might consult their managers, in which 90% of them will say no unless you got a paper version ready.

Lol, supposingly yes. You wouldn't believe how many items they hid during boxing week (completely removed from inventory) and then mysteriously popped back up after a week.

You can still PM. But then you won't save the extra $30 that was applicable before the price change.

Alright, I am confused by this. If you get it from Staples and then pricematch it wouldn't you save 50% of the difference up to $50? i.e. This would mean you subtract $50 from $99 to get $49?

Or maybe it is just too early in the morning for me to do PM math.

They changed their PM policy:

If you find a lower advertised price on an in-stock new identical item from an Authorized Canadian dealer, now or within 30 days of your purchase (14 days on computers and laptops), just show us the price. We will match it and give you 10% of the difference as a credit to your purchase (maximum $50 credit)!

I don't understand why someone can't post the flyer on this forum.

How is that "leaking" the flyer if people here have already received their flyer in the mail? Leaking would consist of releasing a flyer that has not been officially circulated to the public yet - clearly not the case.

staples downtown university toronto doesnt have any in stock either, they dont even have shelf space for it...seems staples in store doesnt carry it much

price still shows 249 online here

futureshop downtown has it for 129.99...so i dont know how they say save 220...technically save only 30, picked it up myself since theres only 2 left, will get adjustment tomorrow...probably wont bother pm'ing staples since it seems to be a online pm thing and would probably be shot down

edit: nvm i clear cache and cookies and price is now 129.95 for staples...wont bother pm'ing for $3 off, for those trying to use 10off no minimum, probably OOS when you try to order it

I don't get it..

I bought 2 of these from staples last night for $249.95 each for a total of: $499.90

Merchandise Total: $499.90
Coupon 82232: -$10.00 Staples Coupon
Coupon 90120: -$30.00 Staples Coupon
GST: $32.19
PST: $36.91
Order Total: $529.00

Now when I go to staples tomorrow and show them the $99 FS deal, will they give me 10% of the difference of the price that I paid and which is written on my receipt ($249.95) OR will they give me 10% of the difference of their new price $129.

In either case, I can still use my $30 and $10 coupons, right?
Since: $99 x 2 = $198 (so it's over $10 and over $150)

How does that work?

they will use the 250 price. Note though, their PM policy indicates the 110% is only on one item, additional items they would just match.

Hence in your case, you should get one at 85 (99 - 0.1(250-99)), and one at 99 after PM, plus tax. Unless you get a stupid person working there that will PM both.

And i agree, to all out there, get the ultra from costco.

its noticeable in my SD300 camera. The slower SD cards cut out on videos made after a certain amount of time, you need a higher speed card and than the max movie length will be teh same as the size of your card.

I'm not so sure if you can pricematch futureshop at staples. Cause at futureshop, its currently labelled as a "Doorcrasher". If they dont check, then its all good. But if they do, they are on good grounds to deny it.

The flyer says nothing about it being a door crasher.

Not a really problem if the pm don't work we can always return it and buy the Ultra II @costco

Ordered yesterday around 3pm. I received the 2GB SD already. I also filed the PM request. But seems like I'd be returning this 2GB reg. SD and jump on the Costco deal.

Kudos for Staples for extreme fast shipping.

its noticeable in my SD300 camera. The slower SD cards cut out on videos made after a certain amount of time, you need a higher speed card and than the max movie length will be teh same as the size of your card.
The SD300's best video mode only needs about 12x write. The regular Sandisk should be 32X. The only area where it'll benefit the SD300 would be the continuous shooting mode.

For writing data from a point and shot camera I agree that 32x is suficent. on the other hand... if you want to read the data off the card, it's best to get the fastest card possible because the USB bus can handle a lot more than 32x.

Also, memory cards will last a long time (lifetime) while cameras will tend to get better and faster transfers rates as they improve so it might be worthwhile to get the faster possible card, especially considering if the price differecne is only $6....

Well ive been following the thread since day 1 and ill report...

I bought the card online at 249 and used the 30$ coupon only (I forgot about the 10$ one...). anyways... here was my total on wednesday night when i ordered it:

Sku: 632336
Description: DCSAND 2GB SECURE DIGITAL
Qty: 1
Price(Each): $249.95
Scheduled delivery 2/10/2006 by DHD

Merchandise Total: $249.95

Coupon 90120: -$30.00 Staples Coupon
GST (or HST): $15.40
PST : $17.60

Order Total: $252.95

Anyways.. I sent in my PM request at around 1am last night and received the pricematch email a few hours ago:

Thank you for bringing the lower price on item (insert) at Futureshop.ca
to our attention. We have credited the difference in price to your Visa
for the amount of $189.71.

Please don't hesitate to contact us if you need further assistance.

We appreciate your patience concerning this matter,

So net price after tax and PM = 252.95 - 189.71 = 63.24 :cheesygri

So it looks like they still included the coupon even after the PM... looks like it was worth my time! 2GB SD for 63.24 after tax... it could have been 53.24 after tax if i included the 10$ coupon, but im not complaining.. this is hot enough for me! Only bad thing is i wasnt home today and they came and left a note saying they came... oh well till monday I guess...

Yup.. worked for me too.

Had ordered 2 of them for $254 a couple days ago.
Price matched over the phone with FS $99.
Stacked the $30 and $10.

Came out to $75 each tax in.

It was basically a 2 for 1 deal if they would have left their price at $129.

They're supposed to apply the coupon AFTER price match... so you were really not eligible for the $30 off $150 coupon.

usually, these "front pg deals" / "doorcrashers" / "limited qty items" sell out w/n the 1st day (for high traffic stores at least)... so u'd be lucky to find any of these instores on Sat. morning, if at all.

best to phone and check for stock 1st to save a trip.

btw, u can always try to do the online ISPU option and "reserve" it, if store has stock.

Just think at that:
Most of staples coupon are one time use for each acount so if you buy first and do the pm after 2 day's and your purchase are not qualify for the minimum require for the coupon they should remove it BUT if you remember the coupon was unique use so you can't use him again then you can ask for the coupon value since they remove it and you can't use him anymore.
