Did not see this one mentioned in the other thread ..
Price is $69.99. Staples has an easy rebate of $30.00 and you can use the $10 coupon code 82232 to make the final price after MIR $30 + Taxes.
Seems like a good deal for those Tigerdirect mobo Packages with on board video.

This much better than a Radeon 7000?

This much better than a Radeon 7000?
MX4000 is basically a GF4 MX440-8X...still a DX7 card tho...but should be faster than the 7000 depending on the bandwidth on the memory.
Radeon 7000 is more in comparison with the GF2MX.
Just a quick comparison, different ATI and Nvidia do better in different games, so that's hard to judge...just take this as a little comparison
http://www.tomshardware.com/2003/01/20/vga_charts_ii/page6.html
Compare the Radeon 7000 with GF4MX 440-8X
If this card has 64bit memory which is the SE version, then it'll be slower than what is shown...

Is this better than ATI Radeon 9200SE 128mb?
ynchu
Feb 8th, 2006, 08:02 PM
9200SE is pretty much the same as this card.
In terms of value, I'd pay $30 for this card, no MIR, period.
However, if it is for a business PC, why not just pick up a motherboard with onboard video?

they were clearing it out... and it appears that they're still trying *lol*

Hmmm just for comparrison sakes;
TD has a similar card for $34.99 http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=86246
and NCIX has a similar card (though OOS) for $76 http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=12815&vpn=MX4000/128MB/TV&manufacture=CHAINTECH%20COMPUTER
ATIC has a slightly better one (has DVI out) for $50 http://www.atic.ca/index.php?page=LongDesc&sku=14655
for $30 sounds reasonable... not hot but reasonable

The online EZ-Rebate is a big plus...almost guaranteed to get it and you don't have to wait 4 months.

I am not a gamer, so I prefer the passive cooling of the cheaper card.I find that the crappy GPU fans never last...

Why would people buy this video card? It's not going to be able to play any games. You would be better off using the cards built into newer motherboards these days. Some are DX9 compliant and really perform very well. I've seen this one MSI motherboard built around an ATI chipset (w/ X200 integrated video card) that's under $100! This is a good motherboard AND a much better video card. Also business users don't need another video card if the system they purchased already has an integrated one. No point upgrading your integrated graphics to this POS card.

Where do you get the $30 coupon? The only $30 coupon on the coupon page for Staples is for toner/ink only.

Yeah, get a mobo > 100$ with an Nvidia GeForce 6100/6150 or an ATI RS480 (X200)
Both IGP are DX9 (pixel/vertex shaders)

I have 9200SE and my brother has this in his computer. Geforce card is better in gaming then 9200 by far. Smoother and more effects.. in games as opposed to ATI's 9200se

i think there are a few other $30off150 coupons out here on RFD that doesn't req' toner/ink purchase.
but then again the coupon might work regardless considering that it's not the 1st time a coupon has been used for the purpose other than stated :)
