OK so I sold a 2500+ Barton cpu and Asus Av7400-mx motherboard for $95 both in great working condition, this person asked if I had a HS as they did not want to drop the money for one......so I had an old orb I threw in but recommended they get something better, so they email me back saying it boots to biois then they can not get past the point were it boots from cd rom to install windows...so I I would be happy to look at it for them and get it going as I know they both work. this was bought on Wed and last night they sad they would drop off pc for me to look at today, they called at 1pm I said I would be around.....so its now 5pm and I called them to see if they were comming....and they asked if it was raining out????? guess the parents wont drive in the rain?? so then they said mabey tomorrow??? I said OK. This person is like 13 or around that age and I want to get it going for them.....but it pissing me off....I am not 24hr tech support to wait around for them....if they screw me around tomorrow I will refund there money and resell....now am I over reacting on this one??

You should speak directly with the parents then, tell them the exact time you are available and tell them to be there as you are a very busy person.
It is unreasonable for the kid to be screwing you around like this, but it is a kid.

Boots to bios, so it works. Your problem is you offered to help. If they cancel tommorow just tell them they are on there own. Personally I would have no issues with the excuss they gave on why today was bad for them, they should have called you though..

Yes I know I offered to help, just wanted to make sure its ok for them, as for the rain yeah I do understand, but yeah it would have been nice for them to have called me, I know its something silly that its not working properly....hopefully they will drop it off and I will get it running for them tomorrow. If not they can get someone else to get it going. :D

well when they bought this from me, thier mother drove them, plus I never have sold something and had to hook it up for them, this person said they knew how to do it???? I think I am being fair by letting them bring it to me so I can help them with it!

Tell him to take it to a computer store. You already gave them a great deal on a CPU/MB
He's being unreasonable.

Ya, I think you are being overly nice to them, and in so doing, they will begin to expect more and more from you. Tell them your terms, be professional and don't act like their personal tech support. :)

Mr Donkey, I think your a decent seller trying to be decent. We all see that. But you should not have to make a career out of this sale. You have offered help when really you didn't have to. If this person does not show up again and has not thought to drop you a line then I would say your job as a seller is done. Might sound cold. But 13 or no 13 this person was able to make it to your place to purchase and if it really was important they could have found time to call or drop by. Should you go over to his house? NO, you then get more problems if you go and the person is home alone etc, or something goes missing etc, or something breaks or was broken before you started it? maybe a little extreme but just a thought. I could be wrong but thats how I see it. Hope it works out.

Tell them the components are fully tested and working properly, and if they can't get things set up they should take it to a computer store. Don't waste your time.

Ok so i just got a call from this person asking if I would be home between 12-1pm. I said yes, so I will get this going and tell this person to pick it up in a few hours.....the next time I sell something I will tell them it works 100% but you on your own after the transaction!!!!!

Wow, when I was 13 yrs old, I could solve these problems easily. Tell the parents to either bring the kid to solve the problem or to leave you alone.

well I have the pc here now, and the 1998 10gb maxtor wont do anything, the 40gb drive can get into the windows instal and after it formats it says drive may be damaged or not properly connected, so this tells me this is not my problem that my mobo and cpu I sold them works!!! so have been trying to call them to come and pick up and get them selves a decent hdd........there half my sunday wasted......oh well it was my own fault for saying call me if you have any problems!
