So, I have a PS2 with a network adapter and a hard drive. How do I hook the PS2 onto my network (so I can play online games)? Also, how do I put games into the hard drive without actually installing the hd into my computer? Thank you.

Connect the ps2 to your router and use the setup disk that came with the network adapter to setup the connection.
Unless you have a modchip or hdloader you cant put games on the hd.

Hmm, it didn't come with a setup disk. My playstation is modded and I also have hd loader. What now? :)

Get HDLdumb to transfter stuff over the network, its slow though. Or get winhiip to transfer stuff to the hd if its connected to your comp.

if you want to avoid the cables/ d/l stuff on internet/ testing with that stuff

use HDloader..its a 'boot' disc essentially for your games..and hey..i have a copy too :D

Thank you. Been wanting to do something like that but had no clue what program is needed.

Thanks for the info. I just got a hard drive courtesy of ff11. Is anybody here using Toxic OS?
How long on average does it take to transfer 4 gigs to your hard drive from router?

Usually when I'm transferring a 3-4GB Xbox game to my Xbox's HD it takes about 2 min or so. Having a cross-over cable connected from Xbox to my PC ethernet card and taking advantage of the 10/100 :cheesygri

I made the stupid mistake once when I got my Xbox modded, I used a RJ45 cable connected from Xbox to my Router... wow.. it was going at like 2kb/s lol now that was SLOW. Of couse I stopped it at 4% realizing it.

It's so easy to take it off i just pop it in my USB2 HD and use USB2 speeds to transfer games. You can't play online with the HDLoader. Not gonna happen.
Buy the games if you want to play online (or play off the disc if you own the original).

60 minutes isnt fast, it transfers at like 1meg a minute. The ps2 network speed is 10mbit.
I just pop the hd into my usb enclosure and 3 minutes later the image is on the drive.

I call BS on 2 minutes for 3 GB. Do the math, no way off an RJ45 with a 100Mbit max connect to the Xbox HD. More like 8-10 minutes
