Whenever we have one of these threads there are always a bunch of great musical suggestions involving songs and bands many have never heard of. The musical tastes of the board, on a whole, are elclectic. So, which song/band/album do you like that maybe is somewhat obscure?

Me, its
Artist: Neverending White Lights (http://www.nwlmusic.com)
Album: Act 1: Goodbye Friends of the Heavenly Bodies
Song: The Grace, This Longing

Please check it out! It's a work of genius!

many of you never heard of this because it is before your time:
The greatest Disco song I heard as a child and my parents played on Sat nights at our weekly parties the lyrics are wicked :cheesygri
I heard a few remixes in clubs a few years ago, not too shabby.

IE works better:

Rasputin record lyric
BONEY M
There lived a certain man in Russia long ago

He was big and strong, in his eyes a flaming glow

Most people looked at him with terror and with fear

But to Moscow chicks he was such a lovely dear

He could preach the Bible like a preacher

Full of extasy and fire

But he also was the kind of teacher

Women would desire

Ra Ra Rasputin, lover of the Russian queen

There was a cat that really was gone

Ra Ra Rasputin, Russian's greatest love machine

It was a shame how he carried on

He ruled the Russian land and never mind the Tsar

But the kasachok he danced really wunderbar

In all affairs of state he was the man to please

But he was real great when he had a girl to squeeze

For the queen he was no wheeler dealer though she heard the things he'd done

She believed he was a holy healer who would heal her son

Ra Ra Rasputin, lover of the Russian queen

There was a cat that really was gone

Ra Ra Rasputin, Russian's greatest love machine

It was a shame how he carried on

But when his drinking and lusting and his hunger for power became known to more and more people the demands to do something about this outrageous man became louder and louder

Hey, hey, hey, hey....

This man's just gotta go, declared his enemies

But the ladies begged, don't you try to do it please

No doubt this Rasputin had lots of hidden charms

Though he was a brute they just fell into his arms

Then one night some men of higher standing set a trap, they're not to blame

Come to vist us us, they kept demanding, and he really came

Ra Ra Rasputin, lover of the Russian Queen

They put some poison into his wine

Ra Ras Rasputin, Russian's greatest love machine

He drank it all and said I feel fine

Ra Ra Rasputin, lover of the Russian Queen

They didn't quit they wanted his head

Ra Ra Rasputin, Russian's greatest love machine

And so they shot him till he was dead

Oh those Russians

Yeah, I got the CD when it came out and now that it's becoming popular, its kind of weird. I'm going to see NWL in Windsor on the 10th of March. Daniel Victor (and sometimes Dallas Green) frequent the Walker RD Starbucks all the time. I know a couple of their band members now and they promised to give me a heads up so I can go in and get this CD autographed.

Artist: The Tea Party
Album: Edges of Twilight
Song: Correspondence

I saw Jeff Martin at the Devonshire Mall the other day at Jules buying an ice cream with his daughter and wife. Wife is hot! He is married right or is that his girlfriend? Anywhoo, I wished him luck on the solo career but I really wanted to beg him to continue with The Tea Party.

Group ..... Siouxsie and the Banshees
Song .... Peek a boo
Album .... Peekshow

Creeping up the backstairs
Slinking into dark stalls
Shapeless and slumped in bathchairs
Furtive eyes peep out of holes
She has many guises
She'll do what you want her to
Playing dead and sweet submission
Cracks the whip deadpan on cue

Peek-a-boo Peek-a-boo
Peek-a-boo Peek-a-boo

Reeking like a pigsty
Peeling back and gagging free
Flaccid ego in your hand
Chokes on dry tears, can you understand?
She's jeering at the shadows
Sneering behind a smile
Lunge and thrust to pout and pucker
Into the face of the beguiled

Peek-a-boo Peek-a-boo
Golly jeepers
Where'd you get those peepers?
Peepshow, creepshow
Where did you get those eyes?

Strobe lights pump and flicker
Dry lips crack out for more
`Come bite on this rag doll, baby!
That's right, now hit the floor'Song
They're sneaking out the back door
She gets up from all fours
Rhinestone fools and silver dollars
Curdle into bitter tears

Peek-a-boo Peek-a-boo
Golly jeepers
Where'd you get those peepers?
Peepshow, creepshow
Where did you get those eyes?

I could keep going on this stuff, lots of my favourites were never very big.

The Organ - Brother

here we go

they’re back again

look alive , warn your friends

we are warm and we are safe

enjoy it while you can before

things change

we have got to take cover,

brother

we have got to take cover,

brother

lie down in a field if you can

look at the night sky

oh, where does it end?

sometimes it hurts when you

care about me

but it’s going to hurt more when

they take you away from me

we have go to take cover, brother

we have got to take cover, brother

here we go again

oh midnight knocks!

oh explosions!

maybe it’s all made up in our heads

this happens to me when i’m bored

or depressed

here is the best part of the song

where i admit that i might be wrong

because if they are good and if

they are right

then they’ll have their rapture one

of these nights

but if they are wrong……..
