If you have to complain to the CRTC about a paid service where I have to go out and buy a radio, call up Sirius and activate, this country has gone down to shambles.

Probably...but you've missed the point already. He's not supposed to be super funny. The guy is entertaining and from the month I've been listening to him on my morning drives, I'm entertained. :)

This is enough to make me buy in. I didn't want the hassle or channel availability from having a US-based subscription.

What still doesn't make sense to me is the fact that Sirius Canada is only going to broadcast Howard 100 and not Howard 101. >:(
Not that I think he's that great, but Canadian subscribers won't be able to hear Bubba The Love Sponge or any other programming that may be exclusive to Howard 101.

Yeah good but still pretty lame.

I suggest everyone leave some feedback like I did via the website (http://siriuscanada.ca/ContactUs-e.htm) and ask for parity with the american content (well despite the other crap the crtc forces them to include).

I still plan on subbing to the american version until then :/

One talent Howard has that is so under rated is his ability to interview a guest. Who would have thought that Alexis Stewart (Martha's daughter) would make a good interview? If you listen to some of the celebrities he interviews it's just astounding. He gets answers out of people like no one else can. Paul Anka, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Diddy, William Shatner....the list goes on. I dare anyone step up to Howard and his interviews.

The reason Sirius Canada doesn't have Howard 101 is because they are only capable of broadcasting 100 channels in Canada (that's according to the item in todays Globe & Mail).

I believe that this is a hardware limitation on the Canadian radios. If you buy a radio from the US, sub to the Canadian service, you should be able to get the channels above 100.

I thought his west coast feed is on 101? I'm listening to it now and it sounds like yesterdays show. Further more it says Bubba The Love Sponge Replay on the scroll.

They refer often to Howard 101 being the West coast feed, but in reality, there is so much changing every day on Howards channels that it's hard to keep up (the website isn't up to date on a regular basis).

Howard's Show is on Ch 100 from 6am- 11am Eastern, Ch 101 from 9am-2pm Eastern, and the replay from 9pm - 2am on Ch 100

Bubba's Show is on Howard 101 from 4-8pm Eastern and Replay from 2am-6am Eastern

This week Danny Bonaduce is on Ch 100 from 1pm - 4pm Eastern.
( I have a feeling he may become a permanent part of the network).

Note: As of tomorrow Howard is going to try out his regular schedule of only being live Mon-Thurs, with a sort "of Best Of" show on Fridays.

I used to love him years ago.. just doesn't do the same thing for me anymore.

But if he still has a devoted fan base, there's something to be said for that.. it's just not my tastes anymore.

I agree. I haven't listened to Q107 one second since I woke up a few years ago and they stopped carrying stern.

Ever since activating my dedicated car sirius unit I haven't listened to testicular radio. F clear channel, F Corus radio :D, oh and F standard radio/cbc too (for being so stupid and waiting a month to add stern and still only doing it half-assed)

He's referring to the style of radio that entertainers are able to do thanks to Stern paving the way.

if you DON'T like howard, then you have the option of tuning in to another station, it does NOT give you the right to complain to have him shut down again. Gees, people are PAYING to listen to him, let them have what they want for fark sakes

Buy a US radio and a US subscription that's all you'll need. Canadian content rules suck.

It is kind of odd that there is no mention what so ever on siriuscanada.com
about the Howard 100 addition. Other then the news release in their press section the entire site makes no mention of it. It seem they do not want to promote that they offer this channel at this time.

Very Odd

Is it actually being broadcast in Canada yet? Not surprising, look what happened to Tom Leykis. The only station in Canada that had him was MOJO and they removed him after a few months time. I guess these kinds of shows aren't "proper", yet Trailer Park Boys is? BTW, I love that show. :D

Have you listened to their show? They EVEN did the math for people like you. They only spent something like 2% of their show talking about Howee last week. Howee is the person who is always complaining about the FCC, now there's no FCC lets see some entertainment.
