As some of you know...06/06/06....June 6th, 2006 will be the release date of this Omen666 movie(cheesy?). Personally I love horror movies...so hopefully this remake does justice to the original classic The Omen. But you know how remakes always end up.

For now you will only be able to watch the teaser trailer (http://www.apple.com/trailers/fox/theomen/)...nothing fancy. Enjoy!

PS...another one I am looking forward to is Silent Hill movie.

That's funny, I was thinking a few months ago about the upcoming 6/6/6 date, wondering why nobody has been playing on it.

I guess they were/are, I just hadn't been made aware yet.

6/6/6 is a once in a lifetime date, they better make that movie DAMN scary.

Those numbers don't really symbolize anything. What's 111 or 222?

666 is the number of the devil or something like that.

The majority of the people on this planet are not Christian and do not believe in Christian superstitions like 13th floor in a building, Friday the 13th or 666 as the mark of the devil.

So the odds that the "Christian devil" will act on 666 for the majority is a non event.

Just for clarification, it is a biblical reference:

Woe to you, oh Earth and Sea,
for the Devil sends the beast with wrath,
because he knows the time is short...
Let him who hath understanding reckon the number of the beast
for it is a human number, its number is Six hundred and sixty six.
– Revelations 13:18

While most of North America may follow some form of Christian faith, the majority of the world's population does not.

For some people, June 6th 2006 is the perfect day for a wedding!

"While June is traditionally a popular month for marriage ceremonies worldwide, officials in the Netherlands are noticing an unusual number of couples setting their wedding date for June 6, 2006, giving them an anniversary of 666, a number often associated with an end-time beast power of the Bible.

June 6 this year falls on a Tuesday, which is usually less busy for weddings than Saturdays and Sundays.

Expatica reports 17 couples have already applied to marry in the Dutch city of Enschede on June 6 so far, though normally there are only two to three weddings in the city on a Tuesday.

Rotterdam usually sees six to eight weddings on June Tuesdays, but 14 have already been slated. In Arnhem, nine couples have signed up for 666, far more than on any other Tuesday.

"Tuesday is normally a very quiet day," a spokesperson said.

While one explanation is that 666 would be an easy date to remember for anniversaries, others suggest a more sinister meaning.

For centuries, people have been intrigued by the number 666, the "number of the beast" from the Book of Revelation in the New Testament.

Not only is it mentioned in Scripture, it has been associated with the Satanism, universal price codes and the game of roulette, as the numbers on the wheel add up to 666.

According to Revelation, the number "666" is associated with an end-time beast power.

"Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six." (Revelation 13:18.)

As WorldNetDaily previously reported, the legendary number is now getting a fresh look, as researchers are re-examining evidence the number in Scripture may actually be 616.

Fragment from Book of Revelation mentions 616 in the third line – chi, iota, sigma (courtesy Egypt Exploration Society)

While many Bibles have footnotes saying the number translated from the original Greek could be 616, experts say new photographic evidence of an ancient fragment of papyrus from Revelation indeed indicates the number is 616, instead of 666.

Scholars in England have been using modern technology to scour some 400,000 bits of papyri which were discovered in 1895 at a dump outside the ancient Egyptian city of Oxyrhynchus. Many of the sections have been damaged and discolored, but an imaging process is shedding new light on the sacred text, believed to have originally been penned by John, one of Jesus' 12 apostles.

Not every city in the Netherlands is experiencing the run on June 6, as Amsterdam is not reporting anything unusual. One couple, though, sought to be united at 6:06 a.m. local time on the morning of June 6, but officials rejected the request, saying they could not perform the ceremony so early in the morning. "

because nobody writes the date like that...06/06/2006

Actually, it CAN be written 6/6/6 because years are frequently abbreviated to their last two digits (2006 becomes 06). Thus, 06/06/06 is the equivalent to 6/6/6.

Etc...

The original is a horror masterpiece, and i can only hope that the remake is at least watchable and doesn't suck majorly...

666 has nothing to do with a date (as referred to in the Bible).
It's just a marketing gimmick to draw attention to a movie.
I'm a Christian but I enjoy some of these spooky movies once in a while.
People have theorized about 666 and it's application to a person in the future for hundreds of years to no avail.

Heed the Omen (http://www.heedtheomen.com/) and click on enter the site...a flash presentation and a menu(about the film, cast and crew, gallery, downloads, video, the number of the beast, and a 666 FAQ)
...with all the video clips, I think I just saw the movie.......when too much of a movie is revealed....little is left to enjoy.

well of course it CAN be written like that.. after the whole y2k fiasco...not anymore...

besides... 06/06/1906 happened a hundred years ago anyways

Yes but how many Hollywood movies have or will they ever release on 06/06/06? There wasn't a bustling industry in 1906, and there likely won't be a Hollywood in 2106 with the way Piracy is going

I haven't seen the original Omen in a long time, but from what I remember this is just about an identical remake.

That's a good thing, because it's still a great story, and the great original cast has been replaced by a great modern cast.

Hopefully, they're just setting up for a big Omen III remake, with the whole nuclear war thing done up as a big CGI extravaganza.

Worth seeing, especially if you haven't seen the original.

(BTW, anybody actually know anyone named Damien?)

"Let him who hath understanding reckon the number of the beast"

and considering most of s are dumbasses of biblical proportions when it comes to religion and being "illuminated"...i doubt everyone is going to know excactly what 666 is, when it will appear, how it will be on and so forth...

today unfortunately isnt the end of time. i actually just finished my 2h driving course. havent killed anyone just yet...

apparently just another boring day lol :D

i think its weird how a movie will try to sell itself by basing it mainly on the fact it releases on 6/6/06... next we'll see another movie sell itself by opening on the 6 hour of the 6 minute of the 6 milllisecond... imagine that, right at the dot "HRRY UP AND GET IN AND WATCH IT, WHILE THE THOUGHT IS STILL SCARY!"

I saw it last night (I love cheap movie nights) and I must say I was captivated by the story. But the ending ruined my general rating of the movie. Before seeing the ending, I would have given this movie a 8/10....but after the ending 5/10. Especially because of the last few seconds....it was such a low blow.

Had to happen - there's two sequels in the storyline.
