I've recently gained an appreciation for a category of music that I typically didn't listen to: Funk
I've heard George Clinton and Funkadelics as well as Jamiroquai.
Can anyone else suggest any other "Funk" artists for me to check out?
Thanks in advance.

Funk is awesome!
Definitely check out:
-Parliament (a Funkadelic sister band, another George Clinton project) - Parliament greatest hits 'Tear the Roof Off' is probably the best classic funk you will hear
-James Brown (especially his stuff from 69 to the late 70s)
-Ohio Players
-Kool and the Gang
-Stevie Wonder (his Innervisions and Talking Book Albums, as well as Songs in the Key of Life)
This is just scratching the surface. There are so many other great funk artists, funk compilations, etc. The above will give you a good start though.
I don't know anything about modern funk artists, the above represent the peak of funk in its 70s heyday.

There are two cds that you can get called pure funk and pure funk 2. They go into alot of great songs. Good way to start other than obvious clinton stuff.

Check out the new orleans funk band "The Meters".. Classic stuff.
The sampled loop from Amerie's "One thing" tune comes from one of their tracks (from the song "Oh Calcutta" from the album Look-ka py py - great album)
Zigaboo Modeliste (the drummer) is freakin incredible.
