Here is the Project Censored's annual list of the Top 10 Censored News Stories of 2005 (http://www.commondreams.org/news2006/0127-01.htm)...

Project Censored specializes in covering the top news stories which were either ignored or downplayed by the mainstream media each year.
Project Censored is a research team composed of nearly 200 university faculty, students, and community experts who review about 1,000 news story submissions for coverage, content, reliability of sources, and national significance. The top 25 stories selected are submitted to a panel of judges who then rank them in order of importance. The results are published each year in an excellent book available for purchase at their website, amazon.com, and most major book stores.

A brief summary of last year's top 10 censored news stories provided below proves quite revealing and most informative. The headline of each news story contains a link for those who want to read the entire article. Links to sources are also provided for verification.

Wow...number 9 is crazy. US's grip on the world is slowly loosening and everybody is trying to grab as much as they can while the US is trying to keep the top spot. I'm thinking WWIII in a few years. Sad stuff.

Most are pretty much common knowledge if you dig any deeper on your own anyway, or if you have any knowledge of the institutions that are affected it's pretty easy to come to the same conclusions. The reason why they might seem one sided is that when you're the most powerful country in the world you have the abilty to keep most of your dirt swept under the rug.

Of the 14 editorial / research Project Censored's staff...it seems all but 2 are American. So, as you might expect, you likely won't see a lot of media articles / stories concerning the UK ( EU ) or Australia...not to mention Iraq and the Middle East stories that are nothing but fabrications on the list.

An inherent US bias obviously exists. However, I wish the Project Censored's site didn't have a section dedicated to a UFO cover-up. While I think most cover-ups tend to misrepresent the truth about actual events ( i.e Iraq, elections, oil, etc. ) by censorship ...I don't thank any truth / evidence exits that UFO's exist...UFO's visits to earth are a theory to explain events IMO, not censorship of actual events.

Most of these stories are USA related.

What's with USA forcing other countries for their free of speech and human rights if they do not follow it.
