Good to see a Careers section here on RFD, finally!

I put this one in Off-Topic but there was no response so i thought i would move it here since it's career-related.

Folks, i have an interview this coming Tuesday for a CS-01 (Entry level technical support/telecommunications) with Foreign Affairs Canada (FAC)

I have passed a technical exam so the interview won't be technical...it will be HR type where they will evaluate my personal suitability which include effective interpersonal skills, judgement, tact and reliability.

Just wondering if any of you folks have gone through these types of interviews before and whether you can share some tips/pointers.

I have done some browsing around the FAC website as well as compiling a list of popular behavioural interview questions just so that i don't have a blank stare in the room

Thanks in advance folks.

Hey!

Check out www.collegegrad.com for interview questions. they have a really goo dlist of the types of questions that will be asked of you for behavioural interviews.

I have my own question, How did you find out about the CS positions at foreign affairs? I went to their website and only found info for the diplomatic positions.

Kerlo those were internal positions that were only open to employees of Foreign Affairs and International Trade.

They do have positions open to the public, i remember seeing that last year around April so keep checking the http://www.jobs.gc.ca which is the main portal for jobs with the Fed

Thanks and Good luck!

Judging by your post, you seem like an outgoing person, so these types of interviews won't be too tough to get through. Just the usual, be yourself, polite and courteous..

Good luck tomorrow! Tell us how it goes!
