Just wondering what the quality is like when you have it hooked up with a LCD monitor. does it look like any regular tv or is it really grainy. (regular cable connection)
any reviews would be great. most interested in finding out what the actual picture displayed looks like. so if you have any pictures that would be great.
thanks!

It mostly depends on your cable connection.
I have digital cable for my main TV, but the tv upstairs is on analog and the picture is not as clear.
Then downstairs I have one computer on another cable connection and that one is even worse than the upstairs tv.

I'm guessing you are interested in External USB TV Tuner for your computer.
Like most things.. Garbage in = Garbage out. If you have a bad signal going into your tuner, it's unlikely that it will be any better coming out. Regular analog or digital TV viewing on a high resolution LCD monitor will definitely show you more weaknesses in the signal than you would've seen on a lower resolution TV.
I have a DViCO HDTV5 USB Gold external tuner. I'm using it for Over-the-Air HD on my media center (sometimes to my laptop)- Works great. Picture is very good.

Are you looking at devices that just hook up to a monitor and don't require a computer?

I used a Avermedia TV Box 5 around the USA to hook up to cable outlets with a flat screen monitor, and the quality of the video was great.

preferably looking for a device i can use that won't necessarily require the computer to be on to watch tv. (but maybe be able to do picture in picture, when i'm using the computer)
anyone have any pictures or know where i can find some of someone that has done this. would analog cable into a lcd monitor look like crap or would it be similar to what i see on my tv right now ? i'm not looking for super high quality, but i don't want a grainy picture either.
thanks!
