It's only January but that isn't stoppping Dell. Starting January 10th, they're holding their Dell's 9 Business Days of Deals (http://click.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/stat?id=CAqD7bLWUPI&offerid=55419.10000067&type=3) on software and peripherials. Some items may be limited quantity so be sure to check it out early.

Day 2 was pretty good... hopefully Day 3 is even better.

no you do not.

when you order online I'm not even sure but I didn't get asked for a company name, if you call in to order by phone then just use some company name, even just the place you work for example but use your home address.

Dammit!

A True MIMO for a hundred bucks? Damn you Dell, I figured the prices would be too high for a while to upgrade my wireless network.

I just bought the $49 wi-fi thing.

Its got a $12 rebate -- follow the link!

So $37 for anything is not bad. Will be a present for a geek I know.

I'm just wondering why you really would need this.
all u have to do is scan if there are any signals with your laptop.

What advantages does the MIMO offer over a normal wireless router?

I have the TEW-509UB version of this adapter at work (does A/B/G) and it's cool... You can just walk around with it and detect rogue wi-fi spots with SID's. Recharges by plugging it in the USB port and use it as a wi-fi card.

The 20.1 FPW is 12ms, but it's such a high quality panel you won't know it. 0 ghosting in all the FPS games I've tried since I got mine for xmas on the dell pre-christmas sale. If it comes up again for ~500 bucks go for it, big beautiful screen!

Pre-N Router = $140 at BB
http://www.bestbuy.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?logon=&langid=EN&sku_id=0926INGFS10061919&catid=21119

What is the point to buying a "Pre-N" router.
Why not just wait till the "Real-N" router comes out

Yep 12ms, but when I had mine, I noticed ghosting right away... same with the 2405 >:( guess I'll have to stick with this crt for a bit longer.

I'm leaning towards the Pre-N router since it's compatible with Nintendo DS' wifi thing...My current SMC craprouter is not and apparently neither is the $39 one

http://www.nintendowifi.com/customersupport/supportedRouters.do;jsessionid=D2C96BE4ED9F6345D16 B5EEC574E4B34

As previously posted, bestbuy is selling it for $140...so is it a "hot" deal for $99?

Also, apparently it's compatible with MAC but I would have go through the trouble of setting it up manually...I wonder if that would be tedious to accomplish. I own an ibook with an airprot express card...

My home router seems to cut in and out..(when using the cabled connection). I still haven't determined if it is my VOIP box causing the issue, but maybe I should upgrade to a new router anyway.... hmmm... I wonder if the Pre-n was is worth the price difference?

I imagine that it will be upgradable to actual N when that comes out (or, that is the plan at least??)

The $12 rebate is appreciated too.

Oh man! Just got this router last week at the source for $139.99, not that great of a deal, since I paid regular price. There regular price is 199.99. Ya right!!!
The question is should I return and order dell's to save $40.00?
Not a bad router either, pretty good distance with it.

I went to newegg.com and looked up the router there (per-N one) and then I read the reviews of it ........... Hmmmm sure alot of mixed reviews on it .

I want a new router with good distance but chose not to buy this as the reviews are just to mixed.

Anyone have a suggestion for a relyable router with lots of distance & 108 ?

I don't know What version it is, if it is F5D7230 V1444, it can be flashed the Linksys WRT54g firmware. also this router has the WDS feature that expand the range of wireless network (Need a AP supported).

Belkin Wireless Pre-N 108 Mbps Router w/Firewall - $99

I have been playing with this thing for a day now and it seems that my Dell laptop worked better with the old USR wireless router. The connection actually craps out every so often and this never happened with the USR.

I know that the best thing is to have a MIMO card in the laptop also but I was under the impression that this wireless roughter was supposed to improve link quality even with normal 802.11g cards and laptops.

Just received my usb adapter/detector today. It lookes as though Dell.ca now uses the same warehouse as BB/FS. The packing slip is the same kind as BB/FS with the sticky tear-off section on the right hand side and the Ship from address is 88 Foster Cres. All the previous stuff I got from Dell had the pink packing slip.
