Saw 2 copies at the Zellers in Surrey today for $120 - seems like a good deal.

Definately a good deal. Staples et al has it for 200 regularly and never lower than 180 on sale.

This the exact same as the standard edition (word/excel/outlook/powerpoint), but it includes 3 licences instead of just 2, and it's a lot cheaper.

I thought to buy an education version of anything, you are required to provide some sort of proof of this status. Zellers checks these sort of things?

I doubt Zellers would know to check.

In general, yes. But unless they're really uninformed, they should not check for this. When I was working at Staples after this came out, the MS rep told me that I could sell it to anyone - so I always did. This is more 'geared towards students', rather than being an actual 'educational' version.

I doubt Zellers would know to check.

What I would expect more is a dumb cashier reading the box and thinking she's so smart by checking.

People said you need to show ur student card or identify yourself as a student or educator before they will sell you one of those. :)

Will anyone confirm this?

MS doesn't enforce the student/teacher proof anymore. Anyone can buy it.
