Is it possible? Just curious...

"The price guarantee does not apply to competitors advertising that states “limited quantities”, “while supplies last”, “clearance”, “close-outs” or “bankruptcies”."

Thats why you show them the printout of the specific webpage. It doesnt say "limited quantity" anywhere on it.

What a joke, "Limited Quantities". Aren't there always limited quantities? Isn't it assumed that only a certain # of a particular sale item will be available? Be it 1 or 10,000.

Has anyone ever seen a sale that says Unlimited Quantities?

Those quest brand speakers are crap. I ordered a set last week and got the SEALED box delivered to me. I open the box and find the speakers covered with dust/wood shavings. I take the speaker grill off and 3 screws fall off holding the cone and the cone is HANGING off the speakers. The dust that I had was from the wood that had crumpled and it was just a bloody mess!

I returned those speakers and ended up going to Pacific Mall to buy a pair of Celestion speakers. They were MUCH better constucted and sounds great.

u got a really good point there...

i guess that's why FS/BB/stooples 110% PM has that included in their PM policy, ... so they can deny all PMs  ..

regardless, i find that not to be a prblm... i can still usually get the PMs :cheesygri

Duh, because another RFD'er told him that "They were MUCH better constucted" than a speaker that was falling apart right out of the box. If they're better than that, they MUST be good!

I've purchased a pair of Quest tower speakers many years ago (5 or 6 years) and they are still working and in good shape. I also find they are quite good in quality but I'm not claiming to be no audiophile though. Maybe the quality of Quest degraded over the years?

Well no because even if they ordered 10,000 of them and put them on the floor...that's still limited to 10,000 of them

Well my experience with quest by no means means ALL speakers are bad. I suspect that I got the "After Boxing Day repack the damage and sell as new" piece. I suspect for $70 a pair, as long as they are decently made and sound reasonable, you should be happy.

Celestion can be found here: www.celestion.com . I found them at a store called AV Audio I think. I have their business card and web site at home and will post later on. They have a 40% off sale on speakers and that price INCLUDES tax. They basically take the MSRP x 1.15 (GST and PST) and then subtract 40% and the result is the price you pay TAX INCLUDED. They take Cash or Debit (No Credit Cards).

The speakers are reasonable albeit for their paper cones which may not be that durable.

I think they only state if it is a limited quantity sale. Otherwise it is supposed to be unlimited and my understanding is you can get a raincheck for the item if it is OOS by the time you are looking. Or the online system sometime will still take orders even it is OOS, but ship when it is available. I don't know if FS will give out raincheck but I know Canadian Tire and Zellers etc do.

The "Limited Quantity" statement is the protect themselves (FS) from there own price drops. Like when the iPod Shuffle went on sale earlier this month, my friend had the prove that there store still had atleast one left to get the price match. The ad said "Limited Quantity" or "10 per Store".

I have a set of these too, and they are very well constructed, very heavy and solid. If you are looking for pounding sound, these are not the speakers, for a set of bookshelf speakers in a living room, where you don't need anything too loud, these will work well, the sound is crisp for the money!

And Canadian Made!

The Limited Quantities apply on sales that say - first 10 etc - like a Boxing day or Grand Opening would state.

Also, why are you complaining about a coporation that is trying to buffer itself from consumer who would not shop there unless they could PM like many many on this board.

I believe the limited quantities thing means when they have a "door crasher" type sale when they specifically say "Only 10 available" etc etc.

Spend the $10 more and get the Q660 towers... 50 more watts RMS and an extra woofer, and no need to worry about stands! Or get both, and use the bookshelf speakers as rear speakers...

I always say, the more speakers the better!

I bought Quest speakers in 2001 I believe, from FutureShop. They were fine and the prices were reasonable. I have read that the quality has gone down a bit, the speakers are lighter now I think.

I upgraded to PSB etc., so they are gone now, but not because they stunk, but rather because the speakers I have now are just superior (and much more expensive).
