I was just wondering if we can have a section *only* visible to RFD members that will have like 100 posts or more. In that section, there will be all the staples price error stuff  and other smoking hot deals that will be posted. After about 2 days, the person who created the thread can post the price errors in the hot deals section. That way, the old members of RFD will have a chance to get those deals and the deal won't die has an "out of stock" email.

If the person who is allowed in that section posts the error in the hot deal section before 2 days... he/she will get 7/14/1 month suspension.

If people thinks this will allow more spamming at RFD. We can have this same idea based on members join date. So the person who has been with RFD for 1 year or more will be allowed to enter the section.

I don't trust anyone here...especially not anyone with more than 100 posts.

This will increase spamming.

Whos to say these people with over 100 posts won't post the "deals" in the Hot Deals section?'

Bad idea IMO.

why not just make it for ALL rfd members. just make it so people who have not registered unable to see it. no spamming.

Just because I don't have 100 posts does not mean I can not be trusted!! Why does greed have to always rear its ugly head? Why shouldn't I have the same priviledges that you have; especially since I don't recall any fine print upon joining that informed me that I wouldn't have equal rights until I posted a stated numbers of times. No, this is a stupid, horrible idea.
Any type of suggestion that would alienate those people with less posts or less time in is stupid!
That has "I'm better than you because I've been here longer" mentality written all over it.

Those people who think they deserve the hot deals more than others, just because they have more posts, are greedy and ignorant if you ask me.

Make it available for everyone!

Heh - high post counts mean nothing! Some of us have been here for years and still have low post counts. I have barely broken 400 posts since joining almost four years ago. I just don't post IBTL and stupid crap like that.

I would have to say no. Too many forums to check on. Just like the Boxing Day forum .. those threads could have been in Hot Deals and it wouldn't have made much of a difference except having to only check one forum for deals instead of two.

RFD is interested in traffic, not if people can get a deal or not.
So unless your interest overlaps with the admins, I doubt that ideas like these will ever become a reality...

Also, RFD is a community for sharing, not hogging, so either way, some will get to hog, only you're suggesting that only some people can hog while others don't even get the opportunity to do so hence restricting the "sharing" part not reducing the hogging in the end.

Who is going to "hog" stuff or exploit a deal has nothing to do with how many posts he or she has or how long they have been around. Someone could make a convincing argument that the longer you have been around, the more likely you are to "hog" a deal, just because they've been around long enough to find deals on everything they "need".

Anyway, I've never heard a convincing argument as to why this would work, but I've heard many about why it wouldn't and ultimately be detrimental to the community, so... lock!
