Hey,
I was wondering if we (Redflagdeals community) could "ask" or "suggest" to Futureshop that they provide sales slips that will last the length of a 2 or 3 year extended warranty.
These slips fade so quickly just after 1 1/2 years.
I can barely get Futureshop to fix my car stereo after checking my sales receipt.
just a thought...

If you can't manage to keep the receipt safe or whatever, tell them to look you up in their system.

Kinda funny, but my Father-in-law was mailing in a rebate. He forgot something and decided to steam open the envelope (saved 51 cents). The receipt was unreadable, appears the steam caused all the ink to run.
He had to goto the store to get a new receipt.

I noticed this with HD receipts. It faded horribly in less than 6 months. Then when I brought the item to replace after 11 months they gave the same 12 month guarantee (was on a plant) but didn't give me a new receipt. If this one dies, I'll be lucky if my receipt isn't just a blank piece of paper lol.
I've had a FS one stored in a firebox for almost exactly 3 years now and it's been fine though. Maybe keep it in the dark works (away from UV)?

photocopy them or scan them into your computer.

Everyone seems to be using those thermal paper recipts now. They might last longer if you keep them in a cool dark place.

Yeah, nothing is as bad as Costco receipts, thermal paper, and it goes out after a while. Photocopying + scanning is recommended, especially on big purchases.
