I basically want to use it for the TV Tuner (hooking it up to a projector that has component inputs).

any ideas on a model? and better yet, where to get it?

I tried searching ebay, but all I could find were DVD/VCR combos ... and these all have component outputs, but only for the DVD player ... not for the vcr function.

Why would you bother? You're not going to get any better quality, the limiting factor is VHS. Just use S-video.

what is the input into the vcr? if it's regular cable then you don't need component out.

And why can't he use S-video?

Toshiba SD-V393 DVD/VCR combo can output VCR/Tuner through component.

I have mine set up just that way.

Got it at Walmart.

I'm thinking most DVD/VCR combos with component out can run the VCR through the component.

thanks for all the help.

the projector has both component and s-video ... but I figured component is better quality.

Not for VHS it won't matter.

interesting, must be a very high end projector, most of the ones I see are composite (RCA) vs component.

interesting as well, vhs with s-video is a rare find..standard are composite and cable.
