It really depends on the inputs and outputs on your LCD TV and DVD player.

For video, HDMI or DVI should be the best right now. You can also use component or S-video cable.

For audio, a basic audio cable should be fine, unless you connect the DVD player audio output to a receiver.

Those items look good and hope you did not need to spend too much on the "brand name" stuff.

Someone in this forum mention a a website called monoprice.com. It seems they offer a really good price on video and audio cables and also good quality. You can also give a try!

I would of gone with some $20 component cable from Wal-Mart or the Source, especially with the no-name TV you got (is it EDTV or HDTV?). For optical cables, it doesn't really matter who makes it, it's just a piece of clear plastic after all. The Monster one costs $2 to make and they sell it for $80, it's not better than a $5 no name optical cable.

First of all, check what type of video input you have on your LCD. You probably have HDMI or DVI and componet video. Second, check what type of video output you have on your DVD player. Current DVD player are now are most upconverting signal which means the video output are HDMI or DVI.

HDMI- the best connection for all digital video and audio.
DVI - the best also for digital video but no audio.
Component Video - is for analog video but much better than s video but no audio.

Audioquest cable are best for all your connections.

Good luck.
