View Full Version : Question about DVD Shrink burning time

Why is it that DVD shrink takes >40 minutes on a 8x DVD on a 16x BenQ burner on my machine? Regular burning takes only 8-9 minutes on a DVD disc for me.

Is it my settings, or is that just how long DVD shrink normally takes?

Thanks

is it doing the converting and burning? or just the burning?

Maybe you have it on deep analysis and slow burning , then it would take about 40 mins to encode and burn

converting I used DVD decrypter. 8-9 min.

burning I used DVD shrink > 40 min., so burning took long. how do I change settings?

I say use another program. I only use DVDshrink for DVD ripping myself.

Sounds like some kind of conflict is slowing your computer and/or burns.

Definitely sounds like a software issue, I think I've seen this before myself.. can't recall the solution, unfortunately. :(

I suspect it's not the burning that's the problem. You're probably copying an entire dvd-9 disc rather than reauthoring. More compression means more time.

I've seen this, I swear.

When you are burning, open up Task Manager and go to the Performance tab, I bet you will see the burning process is taking nearly 100% of your cpu usage.

It's some kind of software conflict.. hopefully that will help to refine your searches.

doublecheck and make sure your drive is not in PIO mode. Download and run Nero CD-DVD speed, and do a burst speed test.

I am pretty sure DVD Decrypter is only ripping the movie, it doesn't do compression. Deep analysis and burning would take 40 min with DVD shrink.
