Hi, i am using
P4 3.0
1GB DDR
Win XP Pro SP2
my directX is 9b now, i need 9c to play Need for speed under ground,i download the directX 9c, the installation only take 5 seconds, which doesn't seems right, then i check the directX version, is still 9b, even after i restart, is it because i am using the illegal xp cd key? can my illegal cd key update to directX 9c? the 9c works on my laptop, but not desktop, plz help, thx. >:(

I believe WINXP SP2 comes with DX9c, unless you upgraded from SP1 or nothing to SP2.

I don't think the cd key matters, otherwise it would've said something about an invalid cd key or that you need to validate with microsoft.com first. Hmm... I'm not sure. Shouldn't the NFS:U come with direct x 9.0c? The games that I have provides the directx upgrade if needed.

Perhaps you should scan your system for spyware, malware & virus'.

i cant find the location of the directX folder, but i check the directX tab, the note says "The file qasf.dll is an old version, which could cause problems.
You should reinstall DirectX to get the latest version." Is this the reason why i cant update to 9c? how can i solve this problem? thx
