They better have upgraded their servers this year if they expect us to be "surfing" for the online only deals. Last year though they had that bar to the right with all the deals so you just had to click, add to cart and purchase. It still took awhile to do that but just be persistant and have your accounts ready to go. I remember the Logitech Bluetooth MX900 Mouse for $49 last year. But if its anything like last year, it will be more like crawling then surfing.

IMHO, 229.99 for a color laser print is a very good price, just don't know how the quality is, Minolta is a decent brand.
For the Athena speakers, I'm tempted to get a set, but wondering if there will be any problem to return it later if I'm not satisfied with it. I've heard there're some restrictions on boxing day like they don't PM on boxing day.

they have it on display at my FS location. it is ok...gets really fricken hot near the paper exit.
color quality is meh...dont expect to frame anything. its pretty grainy.
but if you want basic laser with color abilities this is great

I'm trying to get:
- Systemworks 2006 - $50, there's surely a competitive upgrade MIR floating around which I'll use since I have systemworks 2002
- AoE 3 - $30, nice deal
- Tragically hip CD - $6 off a CD I was going to buy anyway
- Maxell DVD-R media - good media for cheap
Of the rest of the deals only the Canon camera caught my eye, but I don't need a camera

The 25 pack, I don't really use that many of them
A) I don't think you can get those kinds of prices anymore ;)
B) I really don't use that many discs. I have a 25-disc spindle from when I PMed at 150% and I still have maybe 5 of them left. I only use them to burn the occasional home video and a few here and there for data transfers.
I honestly don't see how people can go through 100-disc spindles in 2 months unless they are pirating every movie under the sun.

This sucks, everything is going so slow. I had what i wanted and i just kept trying to checkout but things arent working and now it's "Sold out". This means i have to go for the 10 that they have instore.
Last year, the web site stock kept getting restocked every several hours. For instance, they kept running out of Benq 200 DVD-Rs (or maybe it was CD-Rs) every couple hours last year, but another 200 quantity would magically appear shortly after it said Sold Out.

I say screw 'em. If they can't set up an e-com site to accomodate what they know will be a boat load of traffic I say the don't deserve our $$$. I realize the servers are gettin hit hard but they MUST have expected this and not being able to check out for over an hour and a quarter is just plain insane. most of the "cheap" printers are like that, so you might as well get the cheapest one available -- this one!
the quality of the printer is fine, speed is fine, first-page-out is fine, so it's definitely worth the $60 or whatever.

This year, I am interested in the WD 250G HD. I bought the WD 250G HD during last years boxing day sale and sent in and got the MIR.
Anyone know if the rebate offer number for this year is the same as last year? The rebate says one per address. I probably shouldn't worry, but does anyone still happen to have the rebate form from last year? Is it the same rebate offer number identical to the one from last year? Thanks.

maybe, but there's a mail in rebate link on the website so you can print out the form, why are you concerned if it's a new number or the same as last year's?
i was going to order one of those 250gigs myself but didn't, planning to get an OEM hdd from a local computer store instead, a WD SataII 250GB 16mb buffer hdd is selling for 134 at canadacomputers (just looked it up)
so i guess after taxes on ur rebate, the costs aren't that much of a difference, i'm not interested in the box for the hard drive

My only concern is that if it is the SAME rebate offer number, then the rebate company could legitimately say that I have already submitted one from last year's boxing day sale.

BB's 1.99 for 10 pak Maxell -/+ sure sold out fast...but $25 for 100 aint too bad at all. Order 3 + anyway to see if they're MiJ... Is it - or the + that's likely to be MiJ nowadays? Just earlier this month, I got bunch of the MiJ +R 50 disc spindle from BB in store so I went with the +. If 100 spindle is MiJ, those 50 disc spindle are going back since it's a bit cheaper.(14.99 each)

The retail WD drives that FS sells also only come with 1 year warranty (vs OEM with 3 years)... you buy extended warranty with the retail (in US$) and in the end it will be as expensive as buying the OEM from NCIX or something.

For a total of $111.19 after MIR, I wouldn't call this a cold deal at all. It's not smoking hot or anything, but it is still a good deal. WD's a very good brand, all three of our computers are running ont heir drives and not one has failed in 3 years so far. The one year warranty is a little daunting, but most drives that do fail, fail within a year. This would be a great drive to use as an external HDD with an enclosure. I myself will be getting one from Bcom, but that is a different story.

I wonder how many leeches who got 5 or 6+ of them are going to try to flip them. Hopefully the mods won't allow such posts at RFD.
Also the WD 250GB drive is still a hot deal considering that many people still don't have a SATA interface on their PC. As far as warranty goes, WD is very reliable and many credit card companies offer double the warranty up to one year, so if you don't have problems within the first 1 years or so, your fine.

I've seen the output from this printer... it looks great. Just be aware of replacement toner costs down the road, but that's gonna be about the same regardless of which printer you buy. There are very cheap refill kits too, so that's always an option.
