I'm an Aeroplan.com subscriber and an Amex Aeroplan (gold) card holder. I received an email from Aeroplan:

I'm unclear if I spend more than $200, will I receive 1000 bonus points because when I normally spend $200 or more at FS, I get 500 aeroplan points.
The email is generally unclear to me. I may just buy $200 worth of music or DVDs and see if I get the 1000 points.

Yes, I guess it is a repost. I didn't think to look in the Freebies section because it really isn't a freebie because you have to buy something to get it.

you are correct for the REGULAR offer which has always been spend $200 and get airmiles
however if you read the fine print for the BONUS it says
Plus, automatically earn 500 Bonus†† Aeroplan Miles from FutureShop when you shop in-store or online during Future Shop's Boxing Day Sale.
Nowhere does it state a minimum purchase for the BONUS airmiles

heh.. i hope what u say is true b/c i'd definitely love to earn 500 bonus aeroplan miles on a "no-min. purchase"...
but AFAIK, aeroplan has never done that... (at least not at FS)

I think if you buy anything, regardless of the price, you will get 500 aeroplan miles. I'm going to try it.
I just added a pic with the offer in post #1.
mahjongmaniac, 11K+posts in 13 months, that's like 30 posts per day! Impressive. You must spend alot of time here.

I think you will get the points if you got the email.
Can you tell me what is $1.99 at FS? I'm going to try to spend as little as possible to see if I get the points.

I went to a Future Shop in Toronto yesterday and made a small purchase and requested my bonus aeroplan miles. Nobody at Future Shop had heard about the promotion and the store manager had to authorize it.
Apparently there is no way for a cashier to input an Aeroplan number in the sales transaction if the purhase is under $200.00. They made a copy of my receipt and my aeroplan card and promised that they would input it manually today and call to confirm.
If you got the email, I would recommend that you take it with you if you want to take advantage of the promotion.
YMMV.

as usual, it's for $200+ purchase. it is extremely slow to have the miles posted on aeroplan account, still waiting for purchase done back in Sept. :|

it says minimum $200 in the fine print on the bottomThe minimum $200 is for everyday shopping at FS.
However, the 500 points for any purchase is the second item in fine print. It's a bit confusing, but it does say for any purchase during the Boxing Day sale.
You can check it out in the first post of this thread.

My understanding is Futureshop will not credit aeroplan points to your account until the Futureshop return period has expired i.e. 30 days.

If you received the email, you will get the 500 points with any purchase. However, if you didn't receive the email, then you might not get it.
