Can anyone confirm that mexx sale already started in Edmonton? I want to pick up several dress shirts and maybe a couple pair of dress pants. I'd hate to go on Boxing Day...the mall will be packed....I can almost feel my inability to breathe from the lack of oxygen at the mall accompanied by the dreadful heat.

Was in Southcentre Mall in Calgary - now in West Hills.

Most of the stuff was $20 or less. I think I bought 4-5 pants and 8-10 tops for $180 with taxes.

I was in Scarborough Town Centre last night, they already started the 50% off on the lowest tag. The line up for cashier was horrible, we waited in line for more than 25 mintues to pay.

I werk at mexx. the 50 percent sale STARTED yesterday. Hell. customers were scavengers...throwing clothing around lookin for the rite sizes. and NO dur isn't ne more additional savings on boxin day...dis is the boxin day sale.
so good luck on finding ur rite sizes..i had to stay for 2 hrs n a half last nite cleaning and re-folding the shirts. >=( btw. i werk @ fairview mall.

Was at metrotown Mexx yesterday, sale just started there yesterday, so I was told by sales rep in there. 50% off original price, however some items may be even more as some of the things I purchased seemed like 50% off the sale price.
ie: blazer originally $214 - 50% = $107, but I got it for $69.99, same for the matching pants which I got for ~$40 where the original price was $129, basically I got a suit (blazer and pants) for ~$110 + taxes. That's pretty sweet!
Other items I did get 50% off the original price though, and some items that may have a sale tag may not be 50% off it, just original price.
ie: my gf bought a blazer that also had a sale tag for $139, but original was $199, but receipt said $99.50.

So it is hit and miss. Don't wait until boxing day, go there now to get your sizes or come boxing day and all that will be left will be XXL sizes and size 38 pants.

went to the STC one earlier today.... jam packed, and everything was a mess....

managed to find a few tops for my dad. most of the mens tops that were left were either XS, S, L, XL, or even XXL. Definitely no mediums left in ANYTHING... haha....

as for the ladies side, i didn't find anything that really caught my eye... only got a brown leather belt. sale price was 19.99, so i got it for 9.99... which is pretty good...

tonnes of ppl there... waited in line for 'bout 20 mins cause some lady was doing an exchange or return.. or something that was just a hassle on a day like today.....

What do you mean by "better" men's suits? All the styles at mexx are on sale. The general quality of their suits isn't that great though. Manufacturing is sorta inconsistent and you'll possibly find seaming problems on the blazers. Still, for $150, it's quite a deal, especially if you're trying to find something more slim fitting/cut that Moores.

They definitely put away some of the nicer stuff ....the "nicer" suits were no where to be seen. A lady in front of me in the checkout bought a nice red top and the cashier scanned it in and said "oh ... this one should not be discounted .... it shouldn't have been out there".

I am so glad I decided to go to work and make extra cash rather then going to mexx. I usually shop from mexx but according to you guys the sales werent too good. I usually find good sales on sweaters around the month of june and july. I got majority of my nice sweaters all for $20.00 from mexx during summer time. I will not pay more than $20.00 anymore for sweaters :D

But I have been hearing that sales at FS and BB arent that great this year. So glad I am earining double time and a half by sitting in the office brwosing RFD since morning :D

I went to the store on Merivale in Ottawa today. They still have a ton of men's stuff left (normal sizes too). Lots of great deals.

edit: If you're looking for women's clothes, they have a section where the 50% off was applied towards the sale price, not the original price. That made it hot.

the wool suits are hidden in the back. mexx does have very few high end suits that never go on sale. they were about $500.

i'm pretty sure it's at every store. I was at the one in Kitchener and they were 50% off. The only thing they don't tell you is that they've taken everything except things that were already on sale, or clearance off the shelves. The store was pretty barren as put everything of worth in the back.

Completely agree with this statement. Past years (at outlets) it was 50% off lowest ticket price and there were some fantastic deals including the kids section, I must have bought 20 items in the kids section alone last year, this year zero. :(

Yorkdale's Boxing Day was okay, everything that was in the store the weeks prior were still there.

Yeah, they've started putting away some of the plain dress shirts that retail at $69.00 away because they've been bought so frequently (me being one of those customers :) ) but my friend learned the hard way but he didn't even put up a fight =T
