Lol. They now want the MIRs sent in through registered mail.
Submit the rebate via Postal Service: "Certified Mail Return Receipt Requested" by the required postmark date to the address on the rebate form.

they figure they lost too much money on their "employee pricing" sale 2 weeks ago. do they really believe we're that forgetful? RFD'ers don't forget a hot deal...and we don't forget companies that screw around with pricing & MIRs either.

I would have purchased the 512 meg SD card but the shipping cost kills the deal and there's nothing else I want :(

Thanks for posting the link to the boxing day specials - I was looking for it. That said, what a disappointment!!!!!! As above, no real deals IMHO and not many items on sale either. Kinda sad to see TD taking a dump like this - I used to get great deals on there on a regular basis.

I know some else pointed it out, but the sending rebates by registered mail is excessive in both cost and use of the service. They may as well require it be sent to a numbered company with 50 digits to its name and say that the instructions were not followed when they're a typo. Or better yet, have a period somewhere in the address and if anyone forgets to write it, they can claim that the instructions weren't followed so, no rebate...I was gonna order the SD & Ram but forget it.

Better yet, imagine if they hired a team of RFD'ers to devise a rebate system with the mission to pay out as little as possible. Oh that would be funny...

Hello,

Am searching for a good (actualy "hot" :cheesygri ) digital camera as a first time buyer and am considering this one that TD has on sale:

Minolta Dimage X1 / 8 Megapixel / 3x Optical Zoom / 2.5 LCD / Slim Digital Camera: $389.97

Any feedback? I didn't find that much info on the camera or brand and wondering if anyone has any feedback they can share. (Otherwise, am considering going with a Canon since seem to be lauded everywhere).

Thanks!

Detailed review of it here:

Seems like a half decent camera but there are probably some slightly better choices for the price...

what real deals were there from the employee pricing sale, didn't see anything i was interested in

yea... MIR suck, plus their registered mail rule doesn't make it better, i think it's a strategy to stop ppl from submitting 10 dollar rebates when they realise they need to pay 7 bucks to mail it.... i sent my last TD MIR using regular mail for my KVM, got a reply from the company (trendnet) that i hadn't sent in my barcode, luckily i photocopied it, the rep was nice and approved my check after i told her the barcode, but spent an extra 30 minutes on the phone and maybe 60 days to get my money

I get all types of emails from places like NCIX, CanComputer, Anitec, FS, BB, Staples... I take a look at all of them, because there may be a good deal. I delete the TD ones w/o even opening them. Truly spam... Don't they realize that people aren't that dumb.
