I took a look at most of the flyers and the deals were not deals. Futureshop has Guild Wars for $20 off for 29.99.... wtf? last year it was 9.99..... City of Heros was 9.99 at best buy. tv deals seem so so at best. Show me some good deals please someone!

you've seen too many deals on rfd, and that's why you've been desensitized from the boxing day deals

to most non-rfders, these are good/amazing deals

It's the Xboxes that are refurb, PS2s are new.

question:

are there more price reductions not featured in the boxing day flyers? i.e: if i go to bestbuy early morning, will i find something not in the flyers?

The deals don't suck. In all reality, if the prices are lower than you get anywhere else, it's a good deal.

People here on RFD are so used to price errors that you have forgotten what a good deal is.

You're not going to get a PS2 or Xbox for $100 unless it's a price error.

Any deal is a good deal, after all, you are still saving money.

I don't think so.

I really like the portable DVD player for $90 at FS and BB. That's a very low price. I was looking at the exact same one a few months back and it was $179.99

Worth standing in line for? Well, I don't know, but it's worth going to the website at midnight and ordering it from there.

The best deals are in January. After everyone has spent all their money on xmas and boxing day, retailers have to really slash prices to get people to buy. This is also when you can start buying last year's models and what not.

on average this year's deals are quite good for average consumers. in fact, i would say retailers are smarter this year in front-loading their merchandise. take dell for example: 3 straight sales with aggressive discounts to ensure you won't have any money left to purchase at their competitors come christmas & boxing day. factor in shipping and they are losing money on some items -- even their reps were surprised because they wouldn't be authorized to give you those discounts/upgrades.

when you pay attention to BB & FS this year you'll notice a lot of sales in oct/nov/dec and what they're discounting. merchandise was coordinated so you're not purchasing similar items twice...how many times do you need 100+ dvdrs (non-RFD'ers). so this boxing day, most of us purchased what we wanted early and at a good discount. are they Boxing Day Deals? probably not but i prefer having something in-hand vs. refreshing my browser every 10 seconds because FS's site has crashed...over and over again. don't even mention back in 2002 when we killed staples' server during the $278 LCD misprice. boxing day MIRs? i can do without them -- although i've received boxing day MIRs, paying tax on $120 and waiting 6 weeks is brutal -- those $549 laptops were completely hassle-free.

not so true.. I paid close attention last year but didn't see deals better than boxing week.. i am talking about electronics though. i think the boxing week deals this year are just what the States is offering as regular price. i agree that those deals totally suck..

Boxing day is just an exucse for teeny boppers to spend their Christmas present money that their parents/grandparents gave them.

Espeically at places like off the wall.. man their are always a line up of mall rats there @ 7am boxing days.

I used to be in mall customer service... that was the worst.

Seeing 13 year olds dressed in clothes that are 2 sizes too small for them

on xmas day, there will be price error deals on fs..
It is not going to help because most of the B&M will be closed and so no pm and online stores can cancel the order anytime. So price errors at time will just increase the frustration

I don't think this is true. Considering the US black friday sale where you can get many items for free (Even though they are crap its worth staying in snow from 3am in the morning). Here there are good deals but only for those who are shopping for a particular items and not much for RFDers  where most of them are looking for deal which is not a must for them to buy

Looking at the FS flyer, and thinking bout last year's stuff I bought (without knowing the existence of RFD), I think I sucked too..

Couldn't believe I fell for boxing day, having to wait for months and months for rebates and finally releasing all those deal sucked so bad.

It seems that the only good deals going on this year would be at some clothing retail stores. My gf is in Hong Kong right now so she's buying me a whole bunch of clothes which means I don't have to wake up early tomorrow to go shopping haha.

Yes. So far I haven't been able to find much. So...

Thought I'd ask fellow RFD'ers to post the best deals they've found...
