I just got the XSCargo boxing day flyer from Hamilton and they had a Magellan Meriidian Colour for $249. It is refurbished but has manufacture 90 day warranty.

Not sure if they have the same deals in B.C

Same deal in Victoria, BC. One drawback is having to pay extra for street level maps of cities.
Personally, I'm waiting for a portable voice guidance, automatic route recalculation unit that comes in at a reasonable price. I think that's a couple of years away however.
